Sarah & Simon's Outdoor Elopement at The Green Weddings Cornwall
Sarah and Simon’s intimate outdoor elopement at The Green Weddings and Events in Cornwall..
Sarah and Simon eloped at the Green Cornwall on the 1st of May. They just brought their closest family with them and their 3 adorable dogs. I arrived at The Green ca 30 minutes before the ceremony and the registrars weren't quite sure if the wedding ceremony could go ahead outdoors as it kept on raining. The tension was high and we all hoped the clouds would move in time as Sarah and Simon dreamt of an outdoor ceremony. The decision was made to go ahead with it last minute and we all stayed dry. The Green offers a lovely outdoor arbour by a pond surrounded by woodland and greenery, a beautiful romantic setting for an outdoor wedding. I'm so pleased for them their dream came true!
One of their pugs has done a great job as the ring bearer and I was quite impressed with the 'pug kisses' ...I just love it when dogs get involved in a wedding! To read about some tips about bringing your dog to your wedding please read my blog post here
We even stayed dry for a little walk through the Green's grounds for some couple portraits straight after the ceremony before we ventured to the house to have some drinks and canapés.
I only stayed with them for ca 2 hours. Here is a little taster
Rachel & Wayne's sunny countryside wedding at Kilminorth Cottages
Rachel and Wayne’s sunny countryside wedding at Kilminorth Cottages near Looe in Cornwall..
Rachel and Wayne married on a beautiful warm and sunny spring day at Kilminorth Cottages near Looe in Cornwall. It was one of the venues on my bucket list and I was really excited for this day when I drove down this secluded green valley. It didn't disappoint: the stylish refurbished cornish cottages are tucked away in acres of Cornish woodland not far from the stunning harbour villages of Looe and Polperro. There were photo opportunities a plenty with woodland and fields and beautiful landscaped walk way to the marquee area.
Rachel and Wayne's dream was an outdoor ceremony and I'm pleased the weather played the part. Garden games were entertaining the guests and the children had fun with the giant trampoline and tree swing. A picture perfect day for a relaxed wedding in the cornish countryside.
The alcohol was flowing fast and with some great funk and soul tunes by Jessica and the Rabbits the dance floor was soon filled with some funky moves..
Here is a small preview of the day..

Verity & Ashley's Family Elopement at The Green Wedding & Events in Cornwall
Verity and Ashley’s intimate Family Elopement at The Green Wedding and Events in Cornwall..
Verity and Ashley eloped to Cornwall on the 24th of April. Verity wanted to be pregnant for her wedding and I must say she really timed that well! They only brought their nearest and dearest along with them and it felt more like a intimate family gathering than a big wedding party. A lovely relaxed afternoon with the children playing, dancing and everyone including their gorgeous Beagle mix snuggling up in front of the woodfire in the cosy white house at The Green.
I love playing a part in intimate and personal small weddings like this, they are always a pleasure to capture ... here is a small selection..

Beach Engagement Shoot with Becky, Alex and their German Shepherd 'Bear'
Becky and Alex brought their adorable German Shepherd dog ‘Bear’ to their engagement shoot on the beach..
I met Becky and Alex for their pre-wedding photoshoot, some may call it engagement shoot, for me it's just a walk with the couple and photographing them 'doing their thing' in the most natural way possible... just so they know how I work on their wedding day. If you haven't been photographed by a professional photographer before and if you're a bit nervous before your big day, this tester shoot is a perfect opportunity to ease your nerves. You will find out everything about getting photographed without the need of posing in a documentary style or to find out what works best for you.
Becky and Alex brought their adorable German Shepherd 'Bear' with them to have a play on the beach which helped to take the focus of them and really just have a play around..
I love the results and can't wait to photograph their wedding at Lustyglaze in September.
Here are just a few of my favourites..
Frances & Ian's relaxed vibe spring wedding at The Green Cornwall
Frances and Ian's early spring wedding at The Green Weddings in Cornwall with a beautiful relaxed vibe and some great dance moves...
Such a pleasure to be able to share Frances and Ian's early spring wedding with you. It is my fourth wedding in a row in just 6 weeks at The Green Cornwall with another one to come next week, so I'm breaking my own record in visiting this beautiful venue!
Gladly the weather warmed up nicely and it really feels like summer is slowly approaching. The woodland is tarting to blossom too. I'm always amazed how different this venue looks throughout the season..
Ian works for the Royal Navy, so he and his ushers were wearing their uniform and had the couple walking through a sword arch with pom pom confetti. A nice feature to capture.
The decoration was kept in pastel greens and creams and fitted great to the venue's style. The Great Barn's decoration looked stunning. And I loved the bridesmaids dresses which were perfectly matched to the woodwork colour of the couples cottage. Perfection!
The alcohol was flowing fast and there was a lot of fun action to capture early in the day. The Swing Kings added a great vibe and the dance floor was going off with some quite impressive dance moves even before the first dance started.. I love a great party, more action to capture!
Here is a rather large collection of my favourites from the day. I just couldn't decide which ones to post as it was such a fun day..

Patricia & Darren's late winter wedding at The Green Cornwall
Patricia and Darren's late winter wedding at The Green Wedding and events in Cornwall..
Patricia and Darren tied the knot on the 11th of march with a late winter wedding at The Green Cornwall. A beautiful relaxed day with their closest family and friends. They were blessed with dry weather so we could venture for a little walk through the surrounding woodland for our couple portraits. I'm always impressed how this venue changes colour throughout the season and never looks the same, always a pleasure to photograph there.
The beautiful flower arrangements were created by the talented Kirsty from Escential Blooms and Patricia added her personal touch to the table decorations with illustrations of her favourite horses which is one of her passions. The cakes from Dollybird Bakes fitted to the rest of the styling and looked mouthwatering delicious..
The highlight of the speeches was the best man coming showing off a 'special accessory' from the stack party, the whole barn was drowned in laughter! While the dedicated team from the Green turned the Red Brick Barn around fro the evening we ventured in the bar area for a most hilarious couple quiz. I haven't witnessed one of them for a while and really can recommend it for any wedding, it's so much fun!
The fantastic Kaj Music did what he does best and played his beautiful music for the evening entertainment..
Here is a small collection of my favourites..

Jenny & Kelvin's Winter Wonderland Wedding at The Green Cornwall
I can't wait to share this beautiful winter wonderland wedding at the Green in Cornwall with you..
I've never seen so much snow in Cornwall! We started green and during half an hour while we were inside for the ceremony the whole place was transformed into a beautiful winter wonderland! I was half expecting it with the news reporting it would snow as the beastfromtheeast was fast approaching, but I never thought I would get stuck there for the night. Well I think it's worth it looking at the images and I guess there is worse places to get stuck than at a white wedding at The Green in Cornwall.. I have now nearly finished editing and I'm pleased to share this very special day with you..
Congratulations Jenny & Kelvin! x

Debbie & Simon's sunny crisp winter wedding at The Green Cornwall
Debbie & Simon's crisp and sunny winter wedding at The Green in Cornwall. I'm amazed how different this venue looks throughout the year, always looking great on photos..
I'm always amazed how different the woodland by the Green looks throughout the year. It's one of my most visited venues and I love witnessing the change of season there, it always looks good on the photos! Debbie & Simon tied the knot there on the 24th of February on a sunny and crisp winter's day. In fact, the weather for their wedding day in Cornwall was the best it's been since a while down here! Lucky guys! They celebrated with just a small circle of friends and family and the day had a lovely relaxed and intimate feel to it.
Their two lovely spaniels were given the task of 'Ring Security' for the day and they've done a great job. During the couple portraits they were chasing up and down the woodland truly enjoying themselves. Ok, maybe it would have been better if they wouldn't have jumped into the pond, probably the muddiest place on the grounds... Ah well at least it was after the ceremony!
After the photoshoot, they were called into the Red Brick Barn to enjoy their wedding breakfast listening to the talented Kaj playing an acoustic set.
I was only booked for 2.5 hours, but captured a lovely collection of the day. Here is a small preview..

Cornwall Engagement Photography at Holywell Bay // Becca + Mike
Becca & Mike’s engagement photoshoot on a beautiful sunny winter day at Holywell Bay in Cornwall..
Becca and Mike wanted a bit of practise in front of the camera before the big day and what better way to have some relaxed engagement photos taken on the beach. So we ventured to Holywell Bay just after a brief meeting to go through the details of their wedding day. We were blessed with a beautiful sunny winter's day on the beach. I walk my dog a lot at Holywell Bay and I think its one of the most stunning beaches in Cornwall. No surprise they did quite a bit of filming there including the most recent Poldark. Becca and Mike soon relaxed in front of the camera and the engagement shoot felt like a casual walk on the beach.

Here are just a few of my favourite shots from the day
Why to take your dog to your Wedding
There are so many reasons why you should take your beloved dog to your wedding day, but there are also a few precautions to take..
We all adore our furry companions and it's not a surprise that many couples want to include their pets in their wedding day.
Anne & Simon took their beloved Cockerpoo to their hotel Tresanton Wedding...
Let's face it, there is nothing more adorable than a french terrier in a tux! And if dress ups are not your thing, there are so many cute decoartive items you can buy. I've even seen custom made wedding collars or special flower arrangements to be fitted on lead and collar. Make sure you check with your florist though as some flowers are poisonous for dogs. Also any other dress up items should fit perfectly and not cause any discomfort, and ensure that any accessories like bow ties don't come loose and pose a choking hazard to your pet.
ask your florist to add a flower piece for your dog's collar..
matching outfits anyone?
If you're planning to include your dog, there are a few more precautions you need to take to keep your pet safe and happy during the day.
Consider your pet's personality, he can simply be a guest of honour or you can give them a specific role like ring bearer, flower girl or page boy. I photographed a wedding in St ives last year, where George the french bull terrier was the ring bearer of the day and they created a great short film to be shown at the ceremony. I hardly ever seen so many people laughing at a ceremony! The story was the following: It turns out that the best man forgot the rings at the ceremony! So he calls George to save the wedding day. George, lazy as he is, still in bed, gets the wake up call and has to chase through St Ives to get to the venue in time with the rings.. The film was not just funny and a great contribution to the ceremony, but also showed off the surrounding area and St Ives beaches beautifully. George became famous after the wedding as the film went viral on youtube with over 55000 views!

But before you give your pet a starring role, think about if this will be an enjoyable experience for him. Even a most friendly and well behaved dog could be overwhelmed by a crowd of guests, so it's reasonable to organise a pet sitter. You can hire them or choose one of your friends who is familiar with your dog. It is just one thing less to worry about.
Make sure you include your pooch in some of the couple portraits. It's usually a great time of day where they can stretch their legs and come along with us for the photoshoot. I love getting them involved, they make some great shots!
At the reception you could include photos of your dog in the decoration, or make wedding favours in tribute to your pooch. I've also seen couples collecting and donating money to animal charities like the greyhound trust, which is a nice gesture and serves a good cause.
some table decoration ideas including your pooch..
With a lot to tick off your 'to do' list, it's easy to forget this simple-yet important step, check with the venue if your pet is allowed. You don't want to show up on the day with your four legged ring bearer in tow only to be told he needs to stay off the property!
And if you manage to take your furry friend to your big day, what's better than a fresh air dog walk in a beautiful setting to cure the hangover the day after..
