Cornwall Wedding Photography Kehelland Trust // Dan & Imogen
Dan and Imogen’s fun filled Cornwall Wedding at Kehelland Trust and St Uny Church. A rustic DIY barn wedding with Ceilidh dancing…
I don’t know where to begin here, Dan and Imogen’s Cornwall wedding ticked all the boxes for a fun filled intimate day and I feel privileged to have been there to capture it all.
Imogen got ready at a holiday rental right next to her mum’s house in the countryside near St Ives. A super relaxed morning and great to work with Ro Hair and Georgina Yates again, it has been a while. We then ventured to St Uny Church in Lelant for the ceremony. Such a lovely church sitting beside the Hayle estuary. After the ceremony we headed to Kehelland Trust for the reception with a mini stopover at Godrevy. It’s the place where they got engaged! Sadly it was overcast but we still made the most of it, at least it wasn't as busy as a sunny day and we could park super close to the beach. Time was an issue as Dan and Imogen didn’t want their guests waiting for them too long before they arrive at the reception location…
It was my first time at Kehelland, a barn venue with a true rustic and DIY feel to it. Imogen’s brother made the most delicious gluten free cake and and the rings were made by their dear friend Justin incorporating sand from Godrevy beach! I just love little details like that which makes a wedding so personal… Dan and Imogen’s guests were a great bunch and everyone made me feel so welcome. I got right in the middle of the Ceilidh action and I think it’s one of my favourite parts of the day to capture, Ceilidhs are just so much fun and get everyone on the dancefloor, always. But reflecting back there were so many great moments, I really struggled choosing less than 100 images for this little teaser. The 2024 wedding season is just amazing so far, one cracker after another… Roll on June, my busiest month this summer!
For now, just a few from this fantastic day with Imogen and Dan

Cornwall Wedding Photographer at Tregenna Castle St Ives // Hannah & Ross
Always a pleasure to photograph a wedding in St Ives. Here is a preview of Hannah & Ross’ wedding at Tregenna Castle
Hannah and Ross were married at Tregenna Castle in St Ives. Always a pleasure to photograph a wedding in St Ives. The light, the views, the colours, it always works whatever the weather. We had a fine day with a mixture of sunshine and clouds, so during the outdoor ceremony the constant light changes were a bit tricky but I love my Sony gear which easy tackles situations like that…
They had a great line up planned for the rest of the day with Daniel Costin on the Sax for the drinks reception, then Roger Miners for the wedding breakfast inside. I love working with them and Dan always gets the crowd moving which results in great imagery.
We made the most to of Tregenna’s amazing views over St Ives and the stunning tropical gardens for our first set of couple portraits and even did a quick trip down Porthminster beach just after the speeches.
It was Hannah’s brother’s birthday that day and she had a little surprise cake or him which was super cute and I was happy to capture and the Casino in the evening was a highlight too, so much fun!
It’s always great for photos when there is a lot going on entertainment wise and Hannah and Ross really had that part dialled. A perfect day at a stunning location!

Devon Wedding Photography at Higher Eggbeer // Jess & Conor
My first time shooting a wedding at Higher Eggbeer in Devon and I can’t wait to be back! A thatch roof farm with 2 rustic barns full of charm and amazing views over Dartmoor…
Now this was a STUNNER of a day in any stretch of imagination! It felt like the first day of spring after a long period of bad weather and I happened to be working at one of the most stunning Devon wedding venues with a bunch of legends! My first time photographing a wedding at Higher Eggbeer and oh mighty what a place. A thatch roof farm with 2 rustic barns full of charm, beautifully maintained grounds with views over Dartmoor. Oh and did I mention the pool and the tennis court? A beautiful setting to relax, unwind and celebrate with your friends and family. And for photography it offers endless photo spots and backdrops.
Jess and Conor were married here on the 20th of April and brought a whole bunch of lovely family and friends with them. I truly felt like a part of their ‘gang’ by the end of the day, a dream wedding which ticked all the boxes!
Here is a little preview for you and I must say I really struggled to keep the amor of images for this post within 100! So many amazing moments…
If you’re planning a wedding at Higher Eggbeer or Dartmoor please contact me for availability and prices. I want to go back and shoot another wedding there as I love, love, love this place!

Cornwall Wedding Photography at Launcells Barton // Abi & Sean
Abi and Sean’s Wedding at Launcells Barton. A stunning venue with history attached on the North Cornwall Coast. It has been on my shot list for a while and when Abi and Sean asked me to shoot their wedding it was a definite yes from me!
Images of weddings at this stunning North Cornwall venue kept popping up in my feed and it has been on my shoot list for a very long time. So when Abi and Sean asked me to photograph their wedding there it was an immediate yes from me!
Steeped in history and set amidst spectacular wooded countryside, Launcells Barton is a family-owned exclusive use wedding venue in Launcells, a small parish situated near Bude in North Cornwall. Along with boutique accommodation in a historic country manor house a couple of beautifully renovated barns, walled gardens it has access to an ancient church if you prefer to get married there rather than outside or in one of the barns. Abi and Sean married in St Swithians Church. The church has lots of family history for Abi and was where her parents were married too. I love it when couples choose their venues with meaning or history attached to it.
I loved every minute of this day and we got so lucky with the weather. Storm Kathleen was whipping the Cornish Coast that weekend but it stayed dry until the wedding breakfast, maybe a bit on the windy side but that can be dealt with. We even had some golden evening light, not too bad for a stormy day!
I hope I will be back at this stunning venue soon. For now, here is a preview of Abi and Sean’s day

The Green Cornwall Small and Intimate Wedding Photography // Vicki & Jason
A small intimate wedding at The Green Cornwall to kickstart the 2024 wedding season…
My first wedding this season and a lovely intimate day to capture with Vicki and Jason at The Green Cornwall. They both live in Plymouth and wanted a relaxed style rustic wedding with just a few of their best friends and family. The Green is the perfect place for it. Surrounded by green countryside and on the gateway to Bodmin Moor you can truly relax and unwind. It was a bit of a drizzly early April day but it didn't spoil their special day in the slightest. I was only with them for part of the day, but what a beautiful wedding to kickstart the 2024 wedding season with…

Engagement Session Crantock Cornwall // Gemma & Adam
Meet Gamma and Adam! A little taster from their engagement session at Crantock Beach…
A few from Gemma and Adam’s engagement session at Crantock a few weeks back. Gamma and Adam are getting married in July at Knightor Winery. They wanted a little practise before their big day, so we arranged an engagement shoot to ease their nerves of getting photographed. I love meeting couples this way, it really helps to get to know each other a bit and how we work together before the wedding day.
Here is a little taster from the session…
Cornwall Engagement Photography - Holywell Bay // Dan & Imogen
It was a pleasure meeting Dan and Imogen a few weeks back for their engagement photos at Holywell Bay
It was a pleasure to meet Dan and Imogen for their engagement photos a few weeks back. We went to one of my favourite local beaches, Holywell Bay. This beautiful Cornish gem is one of my top go to locations for photoshoots. Dan and Imogen don’t like their photos taken and wanted a bit of practice before their wedding in May. We had a great time and I’m quite sure they realised that it’s pretty easy to create some unposed, natural portraits… I can’t wait to shoot their wedding soon…
So great to meet you guys! Roll n May…
Saunassa Nordic SPA Photoshoot
Business Photoshoot for Saunas Nordic SPA, a wellness centre located in the heart of Newquay with sauna, hot tubs, cold plunge pools, cold water baths. A true feel good heaven!
I recently worked on something a little different, a branding / business photoshoot for Saunas Nordic Spa in Newquay to create images for their new website launch and social media. The Nordic Spa is located in the heart of Newquay, a unique place where you can relax, unwind and promote health and wellness. With a wood-fired sauna, 2 hot tubs, chilled bath, cold plunges. A true feel good heaven!

Why do I need Engagement Photos
Considering adding an engagement shoot to your package, but not sure about it? I believe strongly in the benefits of engagement photoshoots, here are some reasons why….
Are you still wondering why you need engagement photos or if you should add an engagement shoot to your package? As a documentary /reportage style wedding photographer a pre wedding photoshoot creates a conflict as it obviously doesn’t fall in the ‘documentary/reportage photography’ category. It is more a planned photoshoot. Well, the couple portrait session and your family photos are the only part of the day which don’t fall under the documentary category. And I guess the couple portrait session is the most ‘feared’ part by people who don’t like their photos taken. However, I approach this shoot slightly different and you will soon see it’s nothing to be afraid of but rather to enjoy.
Most of my couples never had their photos taken by a professional photographer or hate their photos taken by anyone. Don’t worry, we keep the photos as natural as possible and you can get to see how to create beautiful portraits without posing. A great way to ease your nerves before the big day! It will be a fun and relaxing experience. One of the most important things to create stunning natural portraits is to be able to relax and be yourself. After all, engagement photos are meant to capture who you are as a couple, not just what you look like. During the shoot you will get more comfortable and relaxed at getting your photos taken. And the more relaxed you feel on the big day, the better your wedding photos will be!
You will also get to know your photographer and I get a chance to get to know you. In some cases there will be bit of guidance by me such as “hey guys, having a hug over there would be great” or “ run down the dunes holding hands’ or some general guidance on how or where best to stand for a good photo. Or some nonsense which usually comes out of me and hopefully makes you laugh! You will see the way I work ‘posing’ will be fun.
Because we can be flexible on a date, we can choose the right weather and location. You can add some beach photos to your woodland wedding and vice versa or we can get some sunset photos which might not happen on your wedding day as you can’t plan the weather ahead. I don’t know how many times I get asked about including sunset photos for beach weddings and I’m always worried for the couple that the sunset might not be as great as imagined or non existing on their wedding day. Maybe you want to visit the place you got engaged, even better, I love it if the location has a special meaning for you. You can also bring your dog(s) along, or are you more of a cat person, they are welcome too. I haven’t photographed a horse during an engagement shoot yet, if I could, this would make my day! Or bring your children along and make it into a mini family session. So many options, just give me a shout and we can discuss ideas.
With a relaxed, enjoyable engagement shoot you can create a series of gorgeous images to last a lifetime.
They also make great invitation cards or you might want to integrate them in your wedding decoration.
I believe so strongly in the benefits of engagement photoshoots that I include them as standard in my top full day wedding package.
And for any other full day packages you get a massive discount!
Oh and you can of course book a pre wedding shoot with me if you haven’t booked a wedding package. Maybe you’re visiting Cornwall and want some awesome photos of the two of you but your wedding is already booked elsewhere with another photographer. Not a problem, you can still book with me for some pre pre wedding photos. There are some stunning locations here in Cornwall, beautiful beaches, little rocky coves, cliff tops, ancient woodland and old mine buildings…the list goes on, I have a list of stunning locations for you to choose from.
