Devon Wedding Photographer for Rustic Barn Wedding // Nat & Luke
I loved capturing Nat and Luke’s rustic barn wedding. So much personality in this epic DIY wedding and a whole lotta partying…
I loved capturing this DIY wedding filled with personality. Nat and Luke worked for weeks clearing and cleaning their auntie’s horse barn for their super special rustic barn wedding near Exeter. And they have done an amazing job, the result looked stunning! I love a rustic DIY wedding, especially if it’s in a cosy barn overlooking some beautiful countryside. Not sure what the shire horses thought about everyone partying in their cosy home…
Speeches, speeches, speeches, I love capturing them. And these were insanely good speeches, especially when Luke’s dad starting singing and they really didn’t want him too!. And a party it was, with a free bar flowing all day the dancing started early and I loved being amongst such a good vibe, if I would have brought my van along I probably would have stayed for the night…
Here is a small selection of Nat & Luke’s epic day, I hope you like it.

Knightor Winery Wedding Photography // Michelle & Sam
Michelle and Sam’s relaxed vibe rustic wedding at Knightor with an outdoor ceremony and vintage Campervan trip to the beach
Michelle and Sam were married late July at Knightor Winery in Cornwall. They had chosen Knightor Winery for it’s rustic and relaxed vibe which suited the kind of wedding they were planning for. The outdoors plays a huge part in Michelle and Sam’s life, they met working as guides in an outdoor centre. So I was so pleased for them when their special day turned out super sunny and they could have their ceremony outside under the beautiful oak arbor. I loved the little flower vase Michelle put up on the signing table in memory of her grandma who so sadly is no longer with us. I love special details like this and always make sure they are captured. Another one which caught my eye was the ‘hiking boots flower vases’ which reflects their love for the outdoors, the two were heading straight to the Lake District for their honeymoon.
After the ceremony we ventured to the nearby South Cornwall Coast in a vintage VW Campervan. A beautiful scenic 10-15 minute drive and they took me along for the ride. ‘Honey’ she is called and has been lovingly restored by the owners of ‘Honeybugs’ one of Cornwall’s finest Vintage Campervan hire companies. The trip to the coast was well worth it as we created some stunning shots which are a nice addition to the woodland portraits we took at Knightor.
When we returned to Knightor everyone was enjoying themselves in Knightor’s cosy courtyard playing table tennis and lawn games or just chilling in the sun.
Michelle and Sam weren’t overly keen on a first dance, but some of their guests did the job for them, especially the flower girls. The Smores Bar was also a favourite of young and old, dancing makes hungry!
What a beautiful relaxed day at Knightor. It was an honour to have played a part in it and I made a small collection of my favourites from the day.

Trenderway farm Cornwall Wedding Photography // James & Rachel
Rachel and Jame’s epic heatwave wedding day at Trenderway Farm in Cornwall
What can I say! James and Rachel’s wedding at Trenderway Farm in Cornwall was ticking all the boxes of an epic wedding day…a beautiful location, a great bunch of people, a summer heatwave and happy summer vibes all around. It was definitely worth the wait, they were supposed to get married last year and had to postpone twice. I’m so pleased for them that they could finally say ‘I do’!
It was my first wedding at Trenderway and I immediately fell in love with this place. Tucked away in a beautiful sheltered valley on the South Cornwall Coast this is the kind of venue I love photographing weddings at and I hope I will get the opportunity to be back here very soon.
Everyone loves the sunshine but I guess this wedding was in my top 3 hottest days I ever photographed. After the ceremony we ventured to the gardens where under the shelter of some trees we listened to the first set of speeches by Jame’s dad and Rachel. I love a bride’s speech and when it’s that heart warming and emotional, even better!
The sun was high in the sky so we decided to just do a brief set of portraits and do the main photos later on in the evening sun.
In the evening ‘Memento London’ soon filled the dance floor Even though the temperature was still in the high twenties. Rachel and James truly were rocking their wedding with an epic first dance performance…
What a day! One of those I would have loved to stayed on and joined the party but unfortunately it was the week with 4 weddings and I made the sensible decision to drive home to recharge for he next wedding.
James and Rachel, words can’t describe how beautiful your very special day was. I enjoyed capturing it even though I felt broken the next day! I guess you agree it was well worth waiting for over a year.
I hope you enjoy your little preview…

Cornwall Wedding Photographer at Trevenna Barns // Claire & Steve
Claire and Stev’s super stylish wedding at Trevenna in Cornwall was packed with a big surprise..
Claire and Steve wanted to keep things relaxed and simple for their wedding on the 10th of July 2018, so they chose the beautiful Trevenna Barns in Cornwall where they could do everything their way and make sure everything was fuss free. I'm not going to talk about the blue skies and summery vibes again, we all know by now it's one of the best summers in ages here in the UK!
Claire did most of the planning and she put together a lot of lovely touches with the help of her friend s and family. The Great Barn was decorated simple and stylish with a vintage touch, I absolutely loved it! The colours were kept in green, cream and gold/brass. There were a lot of lovely personal touches to find in every corner, like some framed quotes telling their love story and deep bond for each other. Claire even had a newspaper made containing their engagement story, stories of their hen and stag parties and the time plan of the day including the dinner menu - a great idea! And it caused some tears in some bridesmaids eyes…
When I first met Claire last year, she said she is really sad that she can't take her two beloved labradors to the wedding and decided to put them in kennels although the venue is dog friendly. She thought it might be too much hassle on the wedding day..I thought it's a shame as the venue is located in the middle of Bodmin Moor with endless beautiful dog walk possibilities and the South Cornwall beaches aren't far away either. Well, Steve thought the same and organised a great surprise for Claire after the speeches: He had the dogs delivered by a dog courier from 6 hours away! Claire burst in tears of joys when she was reunited with their two pooches. He really managed to keep that a secret!
Here is a little taster, I hope you like it..

Harry & Nicola's mid summer wedding at Trevenna Barns
Nicola and Harry had a mid summer wedding at Trevenna Barns in the middle of Bodmin Moor..
Harry and Nicola tied the knot on the 8th of July at Trevenna Barns. I always love shooting weddings at Trevenna, it's such a beautiful venue tugged away in the middle of Bodmin Moors. There are great photo opportunities on the grounds and there is something relaxing about the views over the moorland hills.
Harry and Nic were lucky as the weather played it's part, so they could have an outdoor ceremony. This wedding was truly about love and you could strongly feel their bond to each other, what a lovely couple! They actually used to have their own wedding photography business for a while, so they really knew what to do and how to act naturally in front of the camera, especially when we went for our private couple portrait shoot.
I'm still waiting for Nic to send me the suppliers list, but I thought I post this beautiful wedding without them for now..

Kate & Kieren's late autumn wedding at Knightor Winery in Cornwall
Kate and Kieren's late October wedding at Knightor Winery in Cornwall..
Kate and Kieren were married on the 29th of October at Knightor Winery in Cornwall. It was a mild late autumn day and gladly the rain stayed away. The venues gardens looked beautiful with autumn colours and an even overcast light, great conditions for the couple portraits.
The table decorations were kept simple and reflecting their jobs, Kieren works in IT and Kate in Astronomy: cut out paper hearts with the numbers 0 and 1 printed on them and spread over the tables along with wintery green twigs and jam jar tea lights.
A ceilidh band got the dance floor moving with traditional scottish folk songs and nearly everyone joined in. Definitely the highlight of the day even though a bit chaotic to photograph at times..
I wish Kate and Kieren all the best for their new venture moving to the United States to start a new career.
Here are a few of my favourites of the day..

Do what you feel like doing and not what you think is expected!

When searching for your wedding photographer, you’ve probably fallen in love with a particular wedding photography style — whether that’s documentary, editorial, film-inspired, or something with a fine art edge. Choosing a style you love is important, but beyond the aesthetic, have you thought about which moments from your wedding day you’ll want to relive forever?
