Wedding Photography Lusty Glaze Cornwall // Mel & Dez
Mel & Dez’ epic day at Lusty Glaze. Sunshine, love and tropical vibes…
Mel and Dez met on a sailing trip and have chosen Lustyglaze as their wedding venue because they have a special connection to the sea and wanted a relaxed vibes outdoor wedding on the beach.
When I emailed Mel about the photo list and she replied she doesn’t want any posed photos at all and just wanted me to ‘do my thing’ I knew straight way that this was the kind of day I love photographing so much. And epic it was, I enjoyed every minute of it!
I kept checking the weather forecast on the run up to the wedding and it was a mix of sunshine and drizzle. It turned out much better than expected, no rain in sight just blue skies and tropical vibes. One big cloud was stuck further inland but never made it across the beach…It was all set for their dream outdoor wedding! In fact it got so hot most of the wedding guests had a dip in the sea at some point in the day.
Mel and Dez said ‘I do’ at Cornwall’s top beach wedding venue Lusty Glaze. This picturesque cove in the heart of Cornwall is one of my favourite venues, the perfect setting for barefoot, beach-loving couples who want to get married on the beach. And now you can even have the whole beach just by yourselves. Yes you heard right, no windbreakers and speedos photobombing your wedding photos, instead you have ‘something blue’ included in every wedding at Lusty.
I guess my favourite part of the day was when The Stowes started playing their Celtic version of “what shall we do with the drunken sailor’ and started the outdoor dance floor going in beautiful sunset light. The atmosphere was buzzing! Especially after we had to endure so long with no dancing during the Covid crisis.
Mel and Dez, you were truly rocking it! What an honour to have played a part in your very special day, thanks so much for choosing me as your wedding photographer. Here is a little taster for you…

Wedding Photography in St Ives Cornwall // Dan & Reva
Dan and Reva’s wedding in St Ives Cornwall…2 venues because of Covid closures, but it all turned out an epic day which coolant have been any better!
Dan & Reva’s wedding at Porthgwidden Beach in St Ives was another interesting ‘Covid Wedding’. They were originally planning for the whole day at Porthgwidden Cafe , a stunning location on a small picturesque beach in the heart of St Ives.
However the cafe had to close it’s doors because a member of the staff tested positive. Just a week before their wedding everything seems to fall apart. Gladly the lovely owner of Porthgwidden Cafe found a back up plan last minute. She is friends with the management of the St Ives Brewhouse and they offered to move the reception there. So the plan was to still have the ceremony at the beach cafe and then move to the St Ives Brewhouse for the evening, ca 15 minutes walk away on top of the hill with stunning views over St Ives. A great backup plan and everything ran smoothly. It shows yet again that if you stay relaxed and flexible about your wedding day everything will just work out fine…
It was an epic day in St Ives and I had so much fun photographing it. Dan and Reva are such a gorgeous, humble couple, a pleasure to work with, even more so as they are both highly creative and really understand photography, which helps me to get the results I hope for, well it also helps when you have just the right mix: a gorgeous couple, a stunning location (or two), great people to celebrate with and a dedicated team of suppliers.
Dan and Reva, thanks again for letting me be a part of your epic day, it couldn’t have worked out any better! Here is a little taster for you…
VENUE: Porthgwidden Cafe (ceremony) & St Ives Brewhouse (reception) // MAKEUP: Reva // HAIR: Reva’s aunt Amanda // DRESS: Laura May Bridal Cardiff // FLOWERS: Wheal Sara Flowers // SUIT: Moss Brothers
Cornwall Lower Barns Elopement Photography // Lauren & Dan
Lauren and Dan’s dog friendly elopement at Lower Barns in Cornwall.
I’m always get so excited when I drive to slower Barns for an elopement wedding especially after a long lock down with no weddings happening for a while.. Lauren and Dan tied the knot there end of April , just the two of them celebrating a romantic get away with their lovely little dog ..
LAUREN & DAN
LOWER BARNS ELOPEMENT
The ceremony was held by the amazing registrar James Murray on his last day at work. I’m sure the Cornwall Wedding Industry will miss him as he always added that magic touch to weddings, some words of wisdom and wishing well to the newly married couples at the end of each ceremony, just a personal touch which makes it just that little more special.
After the ceremony we had a photoshoot in the beautifully Lower Barns grounds first before we headed to Caerhays beach to make the most out of the sunny day.

Wedding Photography Lusty Glaze Cornwall // Sarah & David
Sarah and David’s small wedding at Lusty Glaze in Cornwall - beach vibes and love, that’s what it’s all about…
Sarah and David’s wedding at Lusty Glaze was picture perfect! The sun was out and the beach was quiet for their small April wedding in Cornwall. Only 13 of their closest friends and family because of Covid restrictions and unfortunately Sarah’s parents couldn’t attend because of illness.
I couldn’t imagine a more relaxed wedding day with a whole beach almost by themselves as it was early in the season. Imagine a private cove just for you to play with on your wedding day with blue skies and torquois sea, sounds like a dream! Well for Sarah and David this dream came true! Relaxed beach vibes and lots of love, that’s what it’s all about…
I really enjoyed capturing this intimate wedding at Lusty Glaze, one of my favourite beach venues in Cornwall. If you’re planning to get married here or anywhere else in Cornwall, please contact me, I would love to hear all about it.
Here are a few of my favourites from the day. I hope you enjoy your little preview

Micro Wedding Photography Cornwall // Alyssa & Caidan
Alyssa and Caidan tied the knot at Heartlands in Cornwall. An exception wedding as Alyssa’s visa ran out. Originally planned for may they just went for it and said ‘I do’. After their ceremony we ventured to Holywell Bay for some beautiful portraits on the beach…
ALYSSA & CAIDAN
ELOPEMENT HEARTLANDS & HOLYWELL BAY
Alyssa and Caidan tied the knot at Heartlands Registry office on the 18th of march. Oh and you are wondering how they could get married because weddings aren’t allowed during lock down? Well, it’s a long story…
Alyssa and Caidan were originally supposed to get married in May here in Cornwall. I was very much looking forward to it as they have chosen a very local venue and their whole wedding just sounded lovely. Covid restrictions prohibited their wedding plans because Alyssa’s family wouldn’t have managed to travel over from the USA to attend. She spend her time here in St Newlyn East with Caidan since December and her visa was running out soon, they spontaneously decided to just get married in march and have a party later on. Visas are one of the exception rules for weddings at the moment. So it all worked out ok. However there were only two guests allowed during the ceremony and I wasn’t allowed to take images, such a shame! Alyssa said she always imagined her wedding to be different than it turned out to be, but I’m pleased they went for it and still had a lovely day. You can always party harder when we are allowed again and its going to be even more special!
I met Alyssa and Caidan and a close circle of Caidan’s family after their ceremony at Heartlands Cornwall to take some family photos. The two of them also wanted some images taken at Holywell Bay, their favourite beach, so we ventured there afterwards. Unfortunately it clouded over after a glorious start of the day. We still managed to take some lovely shots for their memory and for Alyssa’s family who couldn’t be there. I love the picture frames with her two granddads in the flower bouquet , they are also best friends, she told me. It was dedicated to one of her grandads who passed away early this year from Covid while she was here in the UK.
I enjoyed every minute of our little photoshoot. You two are definitely made for each other, so much joy and laughter, and I wish you the very best for your move to the States. Lots of Love x
Here is a small preview. I hope you like it!

Micro Wedding Photography Cornwall // Best of 2020
A round up of 2020 micro weddings and elopements. Small and beautiful intimate ceremonies marked the 2020 wedding season. A joy to capture these happy moments in such a strange year…
Here is my yearly round up. I wasn’t sure if I was going to write one from 2020, a year a lot of you had so high expectations for and yet it turned out so different, we could have never imagined!
This year’s wedding bookings were reduced by 90%, festivals, social gatherings and parties were canceled. A lot of time was spent in isolation or with limited groups of friends under tight restrictions. Life was put on hold, wedding were postponed and we are still waiting for a sense of normality to return. 2020 was a huge shock for all of us and we had to learn to live with uncertainty.
I know it’s been a tough time for a lot of couples who had to change their wedding plans last minute. It was touch and go for some weddings if they go ahead up to a couple of days before the date. Some of you managed to get married last minute before new restrictions came in place, a real rollercoaster! Thanks again for confiding in me, it was an honour to capture the utter joy of finally being wed after such a journey!
The few weddings and elopements I photographed in 2020 were especially moving. A lot of couples had to reduce their guest numbers and opt for a micro wedding or elopement instead of their originally planned big wedding. I loved every moment I witnessed as a micro wedding/ elopemnet photographer: small moments of intimacy and togetherness in the midst of isolation, family gatherings cherished like none before and somehow more special than many weddings I have photographed before.
A year of downs and ups, a year of devastation and change.
Yet I managed to travel to Germany a couple of times to see my mum the very last time. I appreciate the little time I had left with her. She sadly passed away in September after a 3 year battle with cancer.
But not all was negative, I have some positive changes and memories to look back on. Despite social distancing guidelines and masks we found a way to be together in small groups or online. In the first lock down I have enrolled in an online tutorial with the amazing Erika and Lanny Mann from ‘Two Mann Studios’ helping me to continue finding new creative solutions for my photography journey. I have spent a lot of time in nature appreciating where I live, I have learned stillness, which is a challenge for me as I feel I have to always be productive and ‘do something’. I also adopted a dog from Spain which I love words can’t describe.
Let’s look forward with a sense of optimism and hope. Some things will have changed for the better. In the meantime, stay safe and enjoy the stillness and opportunities it presents to you.
If you are worried about your wedding this year, please tell me, together we can work this through. I’m always there for you to assist you. Please don’t just change dates without asking for my availability. If you are planning a wedding or elopement this year, I have just a few ‘fill in’ spaces left, so get in touch!
Happy New Year everyone! Sending you lots of love and positivity x
Elopement Photography Lower Barns Cornwall // Natasha + David
Natasha and David’s autumn elopement at the fabulous Lower Barns in Cornwall…
Natasha and David tied the knot with an elopement end of September at the colourful Lower Barns in Cornwall. They decided to have an elopement in Cornwall as a bigger wedding wasn’t possible under COVID 19 restrictions. With all their family and friends spread in between Ireland, Kent and the Midlands travel would have been too far for everyone.
I guess they got lucky! With the day starting off rainy it cleared up just in time for a photo session on Caerhays beach and how gorgeous did Natasha look! I absolutely love her dress from ‘Grace Loves Lace’, so beautiful…
Sadly I had to travel to Germany as my mum passed away after her long battle with cancer. So I asked the lovely Megan Hemsworth to cover for me. Her style is amazing and a perfect fit to my work. I edited the images so Natasha and David still received the same end product and the style of photography they have booked me for. Megan, thanks again for doing an amazing job!

“We stumbled across Alexa’s photographs whilst looking at wedding venues and knew she was the photographer for us! Her photos are candid, relaxed and brilliantly capture special memories - just what we wanted for our wedding. Alexa was lovely, incredibly helpful and really responsive, which put us at ease and confirmed that we’d chosen the right photographer. Unfortunately, due to a family tragedy, Alexa was not able to attend our wedding and had to fly home. Instead of leaving us high and dry, which I imagine most other photographers would have done under those circumstances, Alexa made sure that we still had a photographer for our special day. She arranged for Megan Hemsworth (who was FAB!) to photograph us, as she had a similar shooting style to her and then edited the photos herself to ensure we had the classic Alexa look we wanted. For all Alexa did for us, making the whole process smooth and never letting us down, despite personal circumstances which would have warranted that, we would not hesitate to recommend her. Book Alexa as your photographer - you won’t regret it! Thank you Alexa!”

I had an amazing time shooting this Elopement at Lower Barns in Cornwall. The eclectic interior and gardens of Lower Barns are the perfect setting for any Wedding Ceremony. Micro Wedding Photography Porthtowan Cornwall // Robyn + Amy
a small intimate same sex wedding on Porthtowan beach in Cornwall. Glad the sun came out on a stormy day! Beautiful beach wedding photography in Cornwall
Robyn and Amy asked me if I could take some photos of them after their registry office ceremony on their favourite cornish beach, Porthtowan. They weren’t too fussed about having their ceremony photographed but rather wanted a couple of hours with me taking some relaxed photos of them and their friends on the beach afterwards.
I was a bit worried how it would turn out as the day started rather stormy with no breaks in the rain in sight. I ventured down anyway, finding shelter at the Blue Bar. I was waiting for them half an hour loosing hope they would turn up. When they finally arrived they told me they had some problems at the registry office. I guess the slight delay was meant to be as the clouds broke and the sun came out for an hour, just in time for our photo session! And how beautiful is the light just before or after rain, especially in autumn!
What a pleasure to meet you, Amy and Robyn! You and your gang were absolute stars and I had a great time documenting a brief time of your very special day…champagne was flowing en masse, I’m sure you enjoyed your wedding meal, ha, ha!

Cornwall Wedding Photography at Roscarrock Farm // Mat & Kate
Kate & Mat’s Country House summer party wedding at Roscarrock Farm in Cornwall. With blue skies as far as the eye can see…
It was an absolute honour when Mat asked me to photograph his wedding. He is a talented photographer himself and I always admired his work. In recent years he started Hailer Media, a marketing consulting agency in the heart of Cornwall. Have a look, some great stuff there!
So what do you get if you cross a talented photographer with a gorgeous blonde teacher and their cutest little son with a cherry picked selection of the best suppliers in the cornwall wedding business plus one of the most stunning wedding venues Cornwall has to offer? You get Kate and Mat's picture prefect wedding at Roscarrock Farm near Port Isaac. A day filled with friends, laughter, good vibes and love.
Roscarrock is a farm with walled gardens overlooking the beautiful cornish north coast. A spectacular setting which has been used for TV and Film productions before. Roscarrock was Nampara in the original series of Poldark, Winston Graham was said to have written the books based on Roscarrock. It was my first time there and I love it! It feels feel like you are at a country house summer party.
To top it all off, the day was blessed with beautiful blue skies and sunshine. I was only booked for the ceremony and the afternoon and left just after the space hopper football game, but I wish I could have stayed on as it looked like there was an awesome party on the way! Well at least I got to taste some of Ben's (Woodfired Canteen) super delicious food on the way home...
Here is a little taster for you, Mat & Kate! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did shooting your your absolute corker of a day!
