Wedding Photographer Polhawn Fort Cornwall // Kay & Tom

How good did it feel to be back to photographing a wedding at Polhawn Fort! It has been at least 3 years since I have last visited this beautiful venue. Kay & Tom didn’t only have great weather, they had a brilliant bunch of family and friends to celebrate with them. The fabulous Polhawn Fort in Cornwall is a venue where couples can really make it their own rather than being restricted and regimented like at a lot of other wedding venues. And set in this beautiful location with it’s own private beach it is pretty unique! So if you’re looking for a relaxed unconventional wedding venue I would definitely recommend them.

Here is what Kay had to say: ‘I found the venue online. I couldn't sleep, I was looking for venues by the sea and I fell in love with it. It was a perfect fit because it's a fort which Tom loved and its whimsical and romantic in an unconventional way which I loved. ‘ 

Blessed with beautiful weather most of the day was spent outdoors and kay’s dream wedding came reality. Her highlight of the day: ‘I really enjoyed the music, games and mingling on the lawn. Lots of good food.’

Tom’s highlight of the day (bless him): ‘Marrying the girl of his dreams’ (he's a keeper)

Wedding Photography Falmouth and Lamorran Gardens Cornwall // Liz & Robin

Liz and Robin’s wedding day was truly magical! They said ‘I do’ in the beautiful Lamorran Gardens overlooking the sea, followed by a boat reception with Falmouth Pleasure Cruises and an evening at the Working Boat Pub in Falmouth. The weather couldn’t have been better for it and I had an epic start of the day with a mini boat cruise from Falmouth over to St Mawes. I had an incredible time capturing this day filled with emotion and awesomeness, a truly extraordinary wedding and one I will remember forever!

Here is a little summary about the day from the couple:

Liz and Robin met almost 5 years ago after he wandered into the Dive Centre she was working in and they got chatting about their mutual love of the sea. Him a professional offshore sailor and her a scuba diving instructor. They went on their first date at the Working Boat Pub Falmouth and knew from very early on that they'd found something very special. They got engaged in Nov 2020 and started thinking about how they could work their love of the ocean into their wedding day. St Mawes had always been special to them as they had their second date and first kiss there. Lamorran Gardens was the only wedding venue they visited and fell in love straight away with Mediterranean vibe and stunning sea views. It seemed fitting to have the reception at the pub where they had their first date and adding the party boat in, to have a little river cruise just tied it all together so perfectly. 

Robin - 'My favourite part of the day was saying our vows under the cuppola. Lamorran gardens is such an amazing and magical place, we felt so lucky to be able to get married there.' 

Liz - 'It's so hard to choose a favourite part of the day because I honestly loved every single second. But walking down from the ceremony with all our family and friends in the sunshine overlooking the beautiful St Mawes and Carrick Roads felt very very special.'

The day was incredibly emotional as on the 9th March, just a few months earlier, whilst Liz & Robin were out in Antigua, Robin sustained major skull fractures, broke his neck and sustained a traumatic brain injury. Resulting in him being medically evacuated to Miami ICU where he underwent emergency brain surgery and skull reconstruction. He spent 16 days in ICU. And 2 more weeks as an outpatient in Miami. The first thing that Robin said when he woke up was 'we're still getting married' and I truly believe the belief of better days to come helped to pull us through some of the darker moments. There were many moments where we didn't think we would still be able to get married, so having the day we'd always planned made us feel like the happiest and luckiest people alive. To be surrounded by our family and friends who sent so much love and support across the ocean was incredible. I still thank my lucky stars every day that we're here and we're married.

Winter Wedding Photography at Lusty Glaze // Charlotte & Sam

I’m super pleased to finish this year with Charlotte and Sam’s gorgeous winter wedding at Lusty Glaze. They said ‘I do’ early December at one of my favourite beach wedding venues here in Cornwall. I probably mentioned this a few times before, this private beach wedding venue is a pleasure for the eye for any wedding photographer. So many beautiful backdrops to choose from for your photos and the Lusty team are just fabulous, they will make sure everything runs smoothly and you have the most relaxed day ever. What better place to celebrate than right on the beach with a wood burner to keep you warm and plenty of fairy lights to create a festive atmosphere. Charlotte and Sam show us that it doesn’t have to be summer to have the best day of your life on a beach in Cornwall. They truly had it all, a beach just by themselves, their nearest and dearest to celebrate with them, accommodation right on the beach, festive lights, cosy wood burners, sparklers and a great DJ to keep them dancing. Oh and see if you can find the Christmas Elf!

Elopement Photography at Lusty Glaze Cornwall // Martin & Becky

Martin and Becky decided to keep their wedding low key and escaped to Cornwall for a few days to have an elopement at Lusty Glaze. Just the two of them and their Pug ‘Jimmy Mac’ who happened to be the main character of the day. It’s always a pleasure to shoot weddings and elopements at Lusty Glaze. This private little cove surrounded by cliffs is one of the most picturesque beaches in North Cornwall, the perfect setting for a beach wedding. Countless beautiful backdrops and wide open space to work with for natural wedding photos.

Cornwall Wedding Photographer at St Ives Harbour Hotel // Rachel & Dan

Flying through my previews at the moment! Here is a sneak peek of Rachel and Dan’s Cornwall wedding at St Ives Harbour Hotel last month. They were blessed with a gorgeous sunny day and had an outdoor ceremony overlooking the Cornish Coast including an epic entertainment by the fab Daniel Costin sax player. What a day!

Rachel and Dan actually been together almost 23years! They started dating with 18 after meeting at work in Dan’s pub in Worcestershire, Rachel’s home town.

It took moving house, Dan turning 40 and a world pandemic for Dan to pop the question on Christmas Day in 2020. 

Rachel and Dan have always loved spending their holidays in St Ives, following Dans family tradition, so when they were looking at venues they both knew St Ives would be the perfect place to celebrate with friends and family. Here is what Rachel had to say about their day:

‘It's been lovely seeing our loved ones enjoying st ives and seeing it in all its beauty as we have done for the last 20years... we were delighted that 40 of our closest friends and family made the 300 mile trip down to St Ives (on Easter weekend!) to celebrate with us, and the sun shone for them! It was a perfect day! ‘

I’m so pleased they had their dream wedding, good things come to the who wait!

Cornwall Wedding Photography at Lusty Glaze // Chelsea & Dan

Chelsea and Dan are one of my other Covid rollercoaster couples. They originally were supposed to get married last year, then had to postpone their wedding to this year August, only to find out that they tested positive and had to find a new date again in September. At least we managed to do an engagement shoot on Perranporth beach before all the chaos kicked in. I really enjoyed meeting the lovely pair at the time and was really looking forward to their wedding at Lusty Glaze. So I was even more disappointed when I had another wedding booked already for their final wedding date. Gladly the super talented Debs covered for me and did an amazing job documenting their small beach wedding here in Cornwall.

She met them for their bridal preparation photos at Tolcarne beach in the morning. The day looked promising, blue skies and sunshine all around. The ceremony was at 2pm at Lusty Glaze, actually it’s just the next cove. You can walk to it from Tolcarne beach on a low tide.

They had a relaxed family day on a private beach with just 30 guests, a super chilled day in a private cornish cove. What more could you ask for on your wedding day, good things come to those who wait!

Lou and Kristan got married on the 24th of September at Lusty Glaze. They had only booked me for my smallest 3 hour package, so I arrived just before the ceremony wait for the guys to arrive on scooters. Definitely a first for me and they looked super stylish cruising down the road to Lusty! Everyone arrived early to have some pre wedding drinks and the vibe was amazing, it definitely looked like it’s going to be a great party on the beach, I just wished I could have spend longer with them. Such a lovely pair and a great bunch of people…I’m sure they had a great day after I left. Here is a small preview of the little time I have spent with them…

Beach Wedding Photography at Lusty Glaze Cornwall // Emma & Tom

I can’t believe I photographed this wedding back in August! Firstly I want to apologise to all my couples who are still waiting for their galleries. I normally post previews like this within ca 2 weeks after your wedding, however this season was so busy that I’m way behind with the editing! I’m trying my best to catch up and working 7 days a week, but there is only that much I can do. So normal delivery time is 6-8 weeks, this season it is up to 12 weeks. I want to take the opportunity to thank all my lovely couples for their patience and understanding and I promise you it will be worth the wait!

Emma and Tom booked me for a really small coverage, I have only spent 3 hours with them including ceremony and a few images on the beach afterwards. I’m super pleased with the results though and what we captured in that short time, it’s like a mini snippet of a super fun day on the beach! So Emma and Tom, here is your long awaited preview. Lusty Glaze Beach Wedding Photographer Cornwall // Rob & Holly

I’m s excited to show you the preview of Rob and Holly’s beautiful beach wedding at Lusty Glaze in Cornwall. They tied the knot here back in August with an outdoor ceremony on the beach. What a stunning day and definitely within my top 5 favourite weddings this year so far!

It’s always a bonus when you wake up on the morning of your wedding day and see the weather plays nice with a dry warm day, especially when you planned a wedding on the beach. Holly and Rob had the full package. They have rented the cottages on the beach and added a beach closure to have their own private beach for their wedding day. And what better location could you choose than Lusty Glaze, with it’s surrounding high cliffs it is one of the most picturesque little coves here in Cornwall. I always get excited when I shoot a wedding here as it’s usually relaxed beach vibes guaranteed which fits perfect to my style of photography. There are also so many beautiful spots for your couple portraits. And the guests can just enjoy themselves with a stroll on the beach or some beach games. For me, that’s a perfect wedding day!

Lusty Glaze Beach Wedding Photography // Susie & Sean

Susie and Sean booked me for a short 3-4 hour package for their small beach wedding back in August at Lusty Glaze. I met the bridal party in St Columb Minor for their getting ready images. It was lovely to meet all the girls before the big day started…

At Lusty we were blessed with a hot day, slightly overcast, but the beach was buzzing with people, well it was the middle of August and the busiest season ever in Cornwall! We only had ca 30 minutes for all the photos and it was challenging on a busy beach like this to say the least! Gladly we found a quiet corner for a few minutes t take some nice portraits of Susie and Sean. Did you know you can book the whole beach and have the cove closed to the public for your special day? I highly recommend this as it is so much more relaxing than looking at wind breakers etc all day…
