Wedding Photographer Polhawn Fort Cornwall // Kay & Tom
a selection of my favourite moments captured as a wedding photographer for kay & Tom at Polhawn Fort in Cornwall
How good did it feel to be back to photographing a wedding at Polhawn Fort! It has been at least 3 years since I have last visited this beautiful venue. Kay & Tom didn’t only have great weather, they had a brilliant bunch of family and friends to celebrate with them. The fabulous Polhawn Fort in Cornwall is a venue where couples can really make it their own rather than being restricted and regimented like at a lot of other wedding venues. And set in this beautiful location with it’s own private beach it is pretty unique! So if you’re looking for a relaxed unconventional wedding venue I would definitely recommend them.
Here is what Kay had to say: ‘I found the venue online. I couldn't sleep, I was looking for venues by the sea and I fell in love with it. It was a perfect fit because it's a fort which Tom loved and its whimsical and romantic in an unconventional way which I loved. ‘
Blessed with beautiful weather most of the day was spent outdoors and kay’s dream wedding came reality. Her highlight of the day: ‘I really enjoyed the music, games and mingling on the lawn. Lots of good food.’
Tom’s highlight of the day (bless him): ‘Marrying the girl of his dreams’ (he's a keeper)
Enough said. Here are some of my favourite moments from being Kay & Tom’s wedding photographer.

Wedding Photography Falmouth and Lamorran Gardens Cornwall // Liz & Robin
Liz and Robin’s extraordinary wedding at Lamorran Gardens and Falmouth in Cornwall was packed with emotion and awesomeness. Well, I don’t get to spend half the wedding day on a boat cruise usually, truly epic!
Liz and Robin’s wedding day was truly magical! They said ‘I do’ in the beautiful Lamorran Gardens overlooking the sea, followed by a boat reception with Falmouth Pleasure Cruises and an evening at the Working Boat Pub in Falmouth. The weather couldn’t have been better for it and I had an epic start of the day with a mini boat cruise from Falmouth over to St Mawes. I had an incredible time capturing this day filled with emotion and awesomeness, a truly extraordinary wedding and one I will remember forever!
Here is a little summary about the day from the couple:
Liz and Robin met almost 5 years ago after he wandered into the Dive Centre she was working in and they got chatting about their mutual love of the sea. Him a professional offshore sailor and her a scuba diving instructor. They went on their first date at the Working Boat Pub Falmouth and knew from very early on that they'd found something very special. They got engaged in Nov 2020 and started thinking about how they could work their love of the ocean into their wedding day. St Mawes had always been special to them as they had their second date and first kiss there. Lamorran Gardens was the only wedding venue they visited and fell in love straight away with Mediterranean vibe and stunning sea views. It seemed fitting to have the reception at the pub where they had their first date and adding the party boat in, to have a little river cruise just tied it all together so perfectly.
Robin - 'My favourite part of the day was saying our vows under the cuppola. Lamorran gardens is such an amazing and magical place, we felt so lucky to be able to get married there.'
Liz - 'It's so hard to choose a favourite part of the day because I honestly loved every single second. But walking down from the ceremony with all our family and friends in the sunshine overlooking the beautiful St Mawes and Carrick Roads felt very very special.'
The day was incredibly emotional as on the 9th March, just a few months earlier, whilst Liz & Robin were out in Antigua, Robin sustained major skull fractures, broke his neck and sustained a traumatic brain injury. Resulting in him being medically evacuated to Miami ICU where he underwent emergency brain surgery and skull reconstruction. He spent 16 days in ICU. And 2 more weeks as an outpatient in Miami. The first thing that Robin said when he woke up was 'we're still getting married' and I truly believe the belief of better days to come helped to pull us through some of the darker moments. There were many moments where we didn't think we would still be able to get married, so having the day we'd always planned made us feel like the happiest and luckiest people alive. To be surrounded by our family and friends who sent so much love and support across the ocean was incredible. I still thank my lucky stars every day that we're here and we're married.

Eden Project Cornwall Wedding Photography // Ash & David
Ash and David’s wedding at The Eden Project was truly spectacular! The Mediterranean Biome flooded in beautiful golden light, just wow!
It’s always a pleasure to photograph a wedding at the Eden Project, a feast for the eyes and inspiration. And even better if it’s such a lovely couple like Ash and David. I met Ash early afternoon just down the road for some bridal preparation photos. How amazing is her bespoke sparkly dress by Hen House Brides, and it’s blue! I love to see something fresh when it comes to weddings and I have a special weakness for non white wedding dresses…
Ash and David tied the knot in the Mediterranean Biome on the 13th of May in beautiful golden afternoon light. They had a registry office ceremony before the ‘big day’, so one of their close friends could hold a much more personal ceremony at the Eden. It was fantastic! You would have thought it was his job, so special, so personal, so emotional, one of the best ceremonies I have ever witnessed!
After the ceremony we made the most out of the location and had a wander around the Mediterranean and Tropical Biomes. The photo opportunities are plenty and I had to force myself to stop as it was time for dinner and speeches. I got spoilt with a 3 course meal and it was one of the best I had in ages, so delicious. The Eden Project is definitely in my top 5 list for food!
There was plenty of laughter and tears during the groom’s and bride’s speech and the warm sunset light added a great Mediterranean flair.
Sadly Ash and David didn’t opt for a cake or first dance…I love a first dance, but their friend’s made good for it with some great moves.
I’m not very good with words and writing so I let the images so tell the story…I hope you this little preview of an epic day

Wedding Photographer Knightor Winery Cornwall // Ed & Lois
Ed & loi’s epic Easter Weekend wedding at Knightor Winery
Wow, I couldn't have imagined a better start into the 2023 wedding season than this stunning Easter Weekend Wedding with Ed and Lois at Knightor Winery in Cornwall!
When Ed asked me a year ago to be his wedding photographer I was slightly flattered when I found out that he has his own film company ‘We are Wild Studio’. It’s always satisfying to work with someone who understands photography…
Ed and Lois’ wedding day couldn’t have been more perfect. The weather was great, so they had their drinks reception and wine tasting outside by the oak arbour which I thought was a great touch and never has been done before at Knightor.
The speeches were epic and after a second set of photos with the lovely pair, a sparkler exit announced the evening entertainment and a beautiful first dance indoors and outdoors…
I love shooting weddings at Knightor Winery, there are so many photo opportunities and it always has this special relaxed vibe. So if you’re planning to get married there and are looking for a wedding photographer please contact me for availability. It’s one of my favourite venues here in Cornwall.
But fr now, enjoy a small preview from Ed & Lois’ cracker of a day!

Celestial Themed Winter Wedding Photography at Knightor Winery Cornwall // Rob & Anya
Rob and Anya’s celestial themed winter wedding at Knightor Winery. The most beautiful styling by the bride herself, a feast for the eyes!
Rob and Anya’s winter wedding at Knightor Winery in Cornwall was so beautiful! A feast for the eyes, so much personality put in every little detail! I love seeing something different in styling and this wedding ticked all the boxes.
Rob and Anya chose the moon part of the theme first, after a quote from the film Labyrinth "I'll place the moon in your heart", then the rest of theme (colours, stars etc) came after Anya found her dress from Glitter Soup. ‘I loved the handpainted details from the Ukrainian maker, and thought having a deep moody celestial setting would suit the time of year as well.’
A lot of the decor was DIY'd, including stationary, signage, the candle sticks etc, or sourced within the UK.
Flowers were all purchased from a Willow Cottage Flowers on Etsy and put together by the bride herself, with some help from Youngest Child Events for the signing table. They looked pretty amazing considering she never made a flower arrangement or bouquet before!
Rob and Anya only wanted a small cozy wedding with those closest to them. Sadly Anya’s maid of honour passed away a few months before the wedding, but she was there in spirit. Knightor is the perfect venue for a small intimate wedding like this. Making sure their guests had amazing food was one of the major plus points. Fancy marshmallows, sparklers and firepits finished the evening cozy vibe.
‘Whilst the mention of eels seems a bit random, it makes sense to Rob and I, as one of our earliest dates was at Ely Eel Festival where Rob took part in the World Eel Throwing Championship (the eels thrown were toy eels!). His magnificent throw didn't make the podium, but pretty much secured his place in my heart’
Loved the cake so much that I cried when saw it in person, and our favourite part of the day was seeing each other at the front of the aisle and reading our own vows.’
I feel honoured to have played a part in this very special day! My first wedding to capture this season and one I will remember for sure.

Winter Wedding Photography at Lusty Glaze // Charlotte & Sam
Charlotte and Sam’s winter beach wedding at Lusty Glaze. Beautiful festive wedding photography at one of my favourite venues here in Cornwall. Charlotte and Sam show us that it doesn’t have to be summer to have the best day of your life on a beach in Cornwall…
I’m super pleased to finish this year with Charlotte and Sam’s gorgeous winter wedding at Lusty Glaze. They said ‘I do’ early December at one of my favourite beach wedding venues here in Cornwall. I probably mentioned this a few times before, this private beach wedding venue is a pleasure for the eye for any wedding photographer. So many beautiful backdrops to choose from for your photos and the Lusty team are just fabulous, they will make sure everything runs smoothly and you have the most relaxed day ever. What better place to celebrate than right on the beach with a wood burner to keep you warm and plenty of fairy lights to create a festive atmosphere. Charlotte and Sam show us that it doesn’t have to be summer to have the best day of your life on a beach in Cornwall. They truly had it all, a beach just by themselves, their nearest and dearest to celebrate with them, accommodation right on the beach, festive lights, cosy wood burners, sparklers and a great DJ to keep them dancing. Oh and see if you can find the Christmas Elf!
What a beautiful intimate day to capture, thanks Charlotte and Sam for having me there.
If you’re planning a wedding at Lusty Glaze please contact me for availability. I take bookings for 2024 now and have a few limited spaces left for 2023.

Wedding Photography at The Eden Project in Cornwall // David & Julie
David and Julie tied the knot at The Eden Project in Cornwall late October. With a ceremony and first half the reception in the tropical biome it was a feast for a photographer’s eye. No bad weather to battle just the short window of daylight…
I always love working at The Eden Project in Cornwall as it is one of the most incredible places for wedding photography. The mediterranean and tropical biomes are perfect for any weather conditions as they keep certain warm temperatures for the plants to grow and are completely covered from winds and rain. The tropical biome is the world’s largest indoor rainforest and David and Julie hired it for exclusive use from late afternoon. I knew this day would be super special to capture as the Eden Project is one of the most incredible and unique venues for a wedding, not just in Cornwall but in the world. It’s also perfect for any weather conditions as you don’t have to worry about a rainy day. The only thing I was worried about was the lack of day light this time of year as the evenings draw in quickly in late October and with a 5pm ceremony we only had less than an hour left for natural light photos afterwards before all the guests ventured back up to the gallery for part 2 of the evening reception. We did it though and I love what we captured, I hope you guys do too!

Knightor Winery Wedding // Elizabeth & Matt
Elizabeth and Matt got hitched mid October at Knightor Winery. And what a scorcher of a day it was! A full day coverage filled with fun and laughter including goats, pirates, champagne spray and two first dances and Abba time…what more do you want on your wedding day!
Oh mighty, what a day it was! Elizabeth and Matt got hitched mid October at Knightor Winery. I covered the whole day and worked with Luke form ‘I do Film and Photos’ again, dream team! A day filled with fun, love, laughter, goats, pirates and two first dances…
We started with bridal preparations in the morning and also spend a little time with the guys but they weren’t so fussed about a having plenty of photos taken. I think I nearly shed a tear when Liz’ dad came into the chalet and seen his daughter in her gorgeous dress the first time. One of my favourite moments to capture!
The ceremony was held in Knightor’s barn as the day was a bit unsettled, showers and sunshine at the same time, so it was saver and warmer to say ‘I do’ inside. Gladly for the rest of the afternoon we had glorious sunshine which helped to create some stunning couple portraits throughout Knightor’s beautiful grounds. I think we nearly went in every little corner Knightor had to offer as Liz’ had seen a lot of my previous Photography at Knightor and literally wanted it all… so we did a little tour starting with a visit to Knightor’s gorgeous goats which seemed to have an obsession with her beautiful colourful bouquet!
When we got back the bridesmaids had a champagne ready to be opened which resulted in one of my favourite shots from the day, I love a good champagne spray! In the meanwhile matt and the grooms men adopted the wooden playground ship as their very own pirate’s vessel!
Andy Mitchell got the dance floor going early and Liz’ and her bride clan had a very special set planned for later in the evening, Abba time, oh yes you heard me right, Liz is a big Abba fan and I think I haven’t seen so much fun on a small dance floor in a long time. Well, Matt wasn’t really planning to join as he’s not really part of the fan club, so he had a special treat for the guys planned, Cuban cigars and plenty of rum were enjoyed in the courtyard whilst the girls were rocking the dance floor to Abba tunes.
Oh and did I mention that the two of them had 2 first dances? an official one inside and another one in the courtyard lit by fairy lights and fire pits. My personal favourite is the al fresco dancing for sure…
So here you go, I’m so excited to share with you my favourites form Elizabeth and Matt’s epic day

Wedding Photography for a small wedding at The Stack House Cornwall // Kyle & Sally
What a truly unique wedding venue, The Stack House in Cornwall , an beautifully renovated engine house overlooking the Fal Valley. It was a pleasure photographing Kyle and Sally’s intimate wedding there.
The Stack House is a truly unique wedding venue and it’s my first time photographing a wedding here. A beautiful renovated 19th century engine house overlooking the magnificent Fal Valley. A perfect place and backdrop for small and intimate weddings and celebrations. Kyle and Sally’s day was super special. Not just this magnificent setting but also their time line. They had booked me for 4 hours as their ceremony was at 7pm and they had already their meal in the afternoon before my arrival. So we started with some couple portraits in the setting sun to be followed up by capturing Sally getting changed into her evening outfit/ wedding dress.
The ceremony was held in an enclosed walled garden. It was pretty dark by 7pm so I set up some lighting to help with the atmosphere and for my camera to focus! There was a lot of tears and laughter during the ceremony and it was finished by a beautiful sparkler exit.
We headed straight back into the engine house for drinks and speeches which were epic, like everything else that day!
What a pleasure to capture this very special day. So here you go, I made a collection of my favourites for you to preview.

Wedding Photography for Kate & Jay's Autumn Wedding // The Green Cornwall
Jay and Kate’s September wedding at The Green in Cornwall was pretty wet. Gladly Jay and Kate were super keen to brave the elements for the photos and it was well worth it!
I was chuffed when Jay and Kate asked me to be their wedding photographer at The Green in Cornwall. Especially when Jay told me he used to be a wedding photographer too. It’s always great to work with people who understand the trade, although it puts a little more pressure on me, ha, ha…
It was a double wedding weekend for me at the same venue and both days were pretty wet, which made it a little harder! I got lucky though as Jay and Kate are such a lovely laid back pair and were well up for braving the elements to get some photos in The Green’s beautiful woodland walk. And it was well worth it!
Jay and Kate only had a small wedding and booked me for half a day, so I just covered from bridal preparations to the speeches. Shame I missed the party as I think it would have been great fun to capture with this lot.
So here you go, Jay and Kate, your long awaited preview…
