Christine & Bouke's beautiful dutch themed wedding @Lanyon Cottages, Cornwall

What can I say! On Christine and Bouke's special day everything came together. The weather was amazing, a lovely sunny may day. They were so lucky as this year may has been rather disappointing! I also love shooting outdoor ceremonies, they are just so much nicer and have a real country style relaxed feel to them. It's the first time I shot a wedding at Lanyon Holiday Cottages and I must say it's an absolute stunning venue!

The cottage garden was flooded in sunlight and everyone seemed to enjoy the crepes from Coastal Crepes so much that the queue just didn't seem to get any smaller the whole afternoon! 

There was a lot of fun and laughter to be had with the garden games including a Croquet set, boules and some wooden stilts.

The reception room was decorated dutch themed in blue and white and was eye candy for me and my camera, unfortunately I only had a quick glimpse of it as I only stayed with them for 6 hrs.

For the couple shots we went down to the Godrevy beach. A stunning cornish beach with lots of photo opportunities! 

Olivia & Jonathan's sunny april wedding in Rock, Cornwall

Olivia and Jonathan were married in St Minver church and had their reception at Porthilly Farm in marquee situated right next to the Camel river estuary. I met Olivia and her bridesmaids at her grandma's house in Rock for the bridal preparations. There was a lot of laughter, bubbles and love in the air and you could just get a glimpse of the marquee from the house's beautiful view over the estuary. At St Minver church, unfortunately the vicar wasn't the most helpful and told me I was just allowed to take photos from the back. I improvised with help of the friendly church warden and the piano player to put up some  ladders in the storage section separated from the front part of the church by a huge wall. This way I could at least get a glimpse of the couple from the front standing on some wonky ladders.. after all who wants to see their backs on all the photos!) standing on some wonky ladders.. 

On the way to the reception we stopped at Porthilly beach for a few couple shots and then made our way to the sun flooded field for the reception where I took some group shots and captured the atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful early spring sunshine and I'm sure they had a great night..

Daisy&Alan's intimate winter wedding @Watergate Bay

Daisy and Alan were married on the 27th of February at Watergate Bay Hotel. They had an intimate small wedding ceremony and lunch. There was heavy rain forecast from 3pm onwards and I was pleased it was still dry when I drove there around 12pm. With the ceremony scheduled for 1pm it should leave us enough time for some couple shots down the beach...well, that was the plan. However, we were all restlessly waiting for the bride..it turned out the taxi firm got the pick up time confused and thought they supposed to pick Daisy up at 1.20pm instead of 12.20pm. One of her bridesmaids picked her up in the end, but only to find out her sisters were still missing with no reception on their phones, so nobody could reach them! A very stressful start of the day, but everyone arrived at Watergate Bay Hotel 1 hour later than planned and the rest of the afternoon went to plan. Our photo shoot on the beach had to be shortened to 10 minutes as it started raining heavy, but we took a few more shots in the hotel and I'm quite pleased with the results considering the time we had. Alan & Daisy are a lovely couple to work with and their deep bond to each other really reflects in the images. What a lovely, intimate wedding! I only stayed with them for a few hours, but I'm sure they had a fantastic evening reception...
