Emilie and Nick's intimate wedding at 'Lowerbarns Boutique Bed and Breakfast'...
Nick and Emilie were married at the fantastic eclectic Boutique Bed and Breakfast Lowerbarns in Cornwall. They invited just their closest family to celebrate their special day. It was a beautiful sunny and warm early summer's day, but it started raining during the outdoor ceremony. Gladly it didn't spoil the day. Here is a 1 image preview of the first kiss...More coming soon..

Congratulations Tom and Laura! @Lusty Glaze Beach Weddings. First preview..
Lovely Laura and Tom were married at Lusty Glaze on the 21st of April. The weather forecast didn't look promising, so we were stoked to have a dry and mild cornish spring day! Here is the first preview..
Congratulations Erika & Rewan @The Alverton Hotel, Truro, Cornwall
Erika & Rewan's spring themed wedding @The Alverton, Truro...
Erika and Rewan were married at The Alverton Hotel in Truro, Cornwall, on the 19th of march. Their wedding was just one week before easter and had a lovely easter/spring theme running through the decorations. It was the coldest and only overcast day of a good run of sunny spring weather, which was a shame for the portraits. However, I'm pleased with the results and respect to Erika who braved the cold in her wedding dress! I even found some daffodils in the hotels gardens to frame a shot and incorporate the easter theme. Here are some of my favourites from our portrait shoot...
Congratulations Danielle & Sean @The Green, Cornwall
Danielle and Sean had a very intimate winter wedding at The Green, Cornwall with just their closest friends and family. I only stayed with them for 4 hours. It was such a lovely relaxed wedding day and I felt very welcomed by everyone. I even practised my German with some of Danielle's family members, who lived in Germany for a few years. I've posted some of my favourite shots on my facebook page
Congratulations Sarah&Aaron, a winter wedding @Carlyon Bay
a sunny winter wedding in Cornwall..
March/winter weddings seem to get more popular these days. Especially if the weather turns out like for Sarah and Aaron's wedding at Carlyon Bay Hotel early march. It was so sunny that we had to find a bit of shade for the group shots in the hotel gardens. If you'd like to get inspired for your winter wedding in Cornwall, I've posted some of my favourite shots of the day on my facebook page.
Laura & Jame's elopement at Lower Barns in Cornwall
Laura and James chose to celebrate their special day away from all the hustle with a runaway wedding at Lower Barns in Cornwall...
Laura and James chose to celebrate their special day away from all the hustle with a runaway wedding at Lower Barns in Cornwall. This luxury boutique retreat, a B&B with highly unique colourful south american style is all about romance. Nestled in a hidden corner of South Cornwall, close to the sea and in walking distance of the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the SW coast path. The owners are more than helpful and do everything to make you feel welcome at their unique venue.
Laura and James told their parents and friends that they would have a 3 day holiday in Cornwall and secretly got married! I was so stoked when they asked me if I could photograph their special and intimate day. Elopements are very personal and intense, even more than weddings, as you spend a few hours just with the couple on their special day, so it's important everyone feels at ease. We couldn't have had a more relaxed approach to it: Laura and James were so easy going and relaxed, it felt like I'm just photographing friends. And with all the lovely backdrops at Lower Barns, it was not all that hard to get some stunning shots. We also ventured for a wander in Heligan Gardens for some extra shots. Here are just a few of my favourites..
Vanessa&James @ 'The Old Farmhouse', Porthpean
Vanessa & James celebrated their special day 'their own way' at the Old Farmhouse in Porthpean, Cornwall
Vanessa and James celebrated their wedding in a small circle at 'The Old Farmhouse' in Porthpean on the southcoast of Cornwall. They did the legal part of their marriage at a registry office in New York, which gave them the freedom to celebrate their wedding 'their own way'.
The properties large garden was perfect for the outdoor ceremony and garden games. The giant connect four game was a favourite and I loved the surprise effect when Vanessa and James found out that the discs had portraits of themselves stuck on them! The spacious living room/conservatory served as a dining room with great seaviews. The 3 course meal was delicious and prepared by William from Pencoose Pantry, a high quality catering service. William believes in fresh food. This means using local free range ingredients from his friends who look after their animals, vegetables and minerals.
It always helps when the weather is good, but this was definitely a perfect hideaway for a small intimate wedding day.
Laura & Paul's Intimate Pagan Seaside Wedding
Laura and Paul's intimate wedding at Millook Haven Beach, a secluded hidden cove in North Cornwall
Laura and Paul love everything nature and celebrated their wedding their own way with a pagan ceremony on the beach at Millook Haven. Millook is a hidden cove lying under imposing cliffs in North Cornwall a few miles south of Widemouth Bay. It was one of the most intimate, personal weddings I photographed this year.
The lovely celebrant Leonore Newson held the most touching ceremony and it felt like she was a family member herself. The day was planned to the last detail and holy waters were collected from the famous Chalice Well in Glastonbury. The water is believed to possess healing qualities and in addition to the legends associated with Glastonbury the Well is often portrayed as a symbol of the female aspect of deity with the male symbolized by Glastonbury Tor. My highlight was when Laura and Paul combined the waters from the springs into a stout and poured it into the sea, a symbol of the divine feminine.
Just before sunset we ventured to the nearby Widemouth Bay for the couple shots. It was getting dark fast, but working with such a realxed couple and a little added flash, I love the results.
I love shooting small, intimate weddings like this. They have a very special, personal feel to them and combined with such a stunning location and lovely people, I feel blessed to play a part in it.
