Sarah-Jane & David's pre wedding shoot on the beach
Last week I met Sarah-Jane and David for their pre-wedding consultation. We ventured down the beach for some shots. The tide came in quicker than we thought and it turned into a little rock scrambling adventure with lots of laughter. What a lovely couple, I can't wait to shoot their wedding this summer at Lusty Glaze!
Hayley & Simon's wedding in Fowey, Fowey Hall Hotel
Hayley and Simon's stylish march wedding in Fowey at Fowey Hall Hotel..
Hayley and Simon tied the knot on the 18th of march 2017 in the beautiful cornish seaside town Fowey. I'm not usually a fan of formal hotel weddings, but this wedding at Fowey Hall changed my views. The staff there created such a casual personal atmosphere, it felt like a private manor house wedding. From when I first met Hayley and Simon I had a feeling this would be a great day to photograph. The day was overcast and drizzly but it added a real cornish almost a bit moody feel to the photos. We got lucky and it stayed dry for a photoshoot at 'Moneypenny' Beach. I guess my highlight of the day was a lift back to the hotel in Simons Bentley ha ha!
There are so many photos I loved from this day it was really hard to make a small sneak peek collection..so here are' just a few' of my favourites..
Venue: Fowey Hall // Date: 18.03.17 // Dress: Enzoani - Butterfly Bridal Boutique // Flowers: The Garden Gate Flower Company // Hair and Makeup: Ellie Dutton // Band: Festival Nights // Videography: Andy Green at Foster Filming
Lauren & Ian, a misty march wedding at Polhawnfort, Cornwall
Lauren and Ian's misty wedding at Polhawnfort in Cornwall..
Lauren & Ian tied the knot on the 11th of march 2017 at Polhawnfort in Cornwall. I haven't met them before which is unusual, as I normally try and meet couples before the big day. We had a FaceTime call before the big day, so I've kind of seen their faces before, but I always think it's better to meet in person. In this case it didn't matter as they are so lovely people which made me feel really welcome from the start and I soon felt like being one of their guests.
When I drove down the windy coast road in the misty drizzle I just hoped the rain would stop in the afternoon, so we could go down the beach for some shots. Even though the mist created a moody scenery, very cornish and perfectly fitting to the stunning venue tucked away on the side of a cliff at the end of the windy road.
Lauren and the bridal party were getting ready in Blue Monkey Cottage, a luxury self catering stay in the heart of Cawsands. I couldn't stop putting an 'aaaaaawwww' face on when I've seen the interior, such a beautiful cottage! Apart from poor Lauren coming down with a cold and being 'drugged up' with painkillers and cold and flu tablets everyone seemed to be very relaxed and looking forward to the big day..
The ceremonies always looks very festive in Polhawnfort, it's a pretty dark venue and challenging at times, but I do like shooting weddings there, especially because it has such great backdrops for photos on the grounds and the secluded beach. We got lucky and the drizzle stopped just when we walked down the steps to the beach. I'm really pleased how the photos turned out, it couldn't look more cornish.
I was only booked for half a day and left after the speeches, which were hilarious! Ian's brother brought a box filled with Ian's embarrassing 'collectables' from past years and being a TV presenter he knows how to do a good speech!
Here are few of my favourites from the day..
Venue: Polhawnfort // Date: 11.03.17 // Dress: Chameleon Bridal, Bournemouth // Flowers: Ruth Andrew from Polhawn Fort // Caterers: BED Catering, Plymouth // Hair and Makeup: Gem Ryder // Cake: Best Man's girlfriend, Olivia Chenery
The Green Cornwall Wedding & Events Real Estate Photography
The Green Wedding & Events real estate book..
The Green Cornwall needed some images taken of their house and cottages for their new webpage. They also ordered a book of the properties to show people if the accommodation is occupied. I spend all summer taking real estate photos of the stunning properties and grounds and designed a coffee table book for their office. I'm pleased how it turned out. It's handmade and of the finest quality, made by the same company who print my wedding albums. Here are a few images..

December Collection Wedding Awards YPW
I'm stoked Lucy and Marc's 'veil in the wind' image was selected in the december collection of YPW's wedding photo award competition..
I'm totally stoked to be yet again selected in the monthly round up of the YPW Wedding Awards competition. Lucy and Marc's image taken at Lucy's parent's farm was one of my favourite shots of the last wedding season. Here is a little background story of the photo: I took Lucy and Marc to their parent's farm for a few private couple photos. We had to climb through fields with bulls on and I was a little nervous but felt in safe hands with a farmer's couple. The high grass served as a beautiful setup for some shots, however the veil constantly blew into Marc's face and caused a lot of laughter!

Laura & Martyn's late autumn wedding at Trevenna Barns, Cornwall
Laura & Martyn's 'rocknroll' wedding late autumn at Trevenna Barns in Cornwall.
Laura & Martyn were married on the 12th of November at Trevenna Barns in the heart of Bodmin Moor in Cornwall. As soon as I entered the bridal suit for the getting ready photos I was welcomed by a super friendly vibe and I was stunned by Laura's makeup, hair and dress so matching to her unique style. Even the dress was carefully chosen to match the rest, very cool! A proper 'rocknrollbride'! When I entered the reception room to take the decoration shots I couldn't stop taking photos, it's so refreshing to see something a little different to pale coloured lace and roses. The 'corpsebride' inspired DIY wedding cake was made by Laura's sister in law Grace, and it's one of my favourites this season.
We were lucky with the weather which was changeable with sunshine and showers, typical for this time of year. But who cares about the weather anyway if you have an umbrella with a skull on it!
I was told by one of Laura's friends that they have a surprise for them just after their first dance. And what a surprise it was! Laura and Martyn love beards and when everyone entered the dance floor with ginger beards on, it was definitely the highlight of the day!
Here is a collection of my favourite shots from the day..
Venue: Trevenna Barns // Date: 12.11.16 // Dress: Sophia Tolli // Suit: Debenhams // Makeup: 'Dollface'-Laura Nolan Teague // Hair: by Laura // Flowers: Launceston Flowers // Cake: DIY // Decorations: DIY by Laura
Leigh & Karl's elegant wedding in Talland Bay Hotel, Cornwall
Leigh and Karl's elegant coastal wedding in Talland Bay Hotel in Cornwall..
Leigh and Karl were married on the 5th of November in Talland Bay Hotel near Looe in Cornwall. They've chosen the boutique hotel as they love to spend their holidays here. When I arrived at the hotel eralier in the year to meet them both for their pre wedding consultation, I immediately knew why they had fallen in love with this place! With it's eclectic style and overlooking the south cornish coast it serves as a perfect wedding venue for a smaller celebration and for a photographer it really has a wow factor, wherever you look there are some new features to discover and photograph. They were blessed with a beautiful sunny late autumn day and I'm pleased we could take most of the portrait shots in the hotel's stunning gardens overlooking the sea. The speeches were great and made me laugh out loud at times, especially when Karl received his best man's present, a portrait of Karl edited into a James Bond poster printed on canvas. Someone showed off their photoshop skills here! The hotel has a nice intimate and calm ambience to it and the meal was delicious to say the least, not a surprise for an award winning chef! Thanks again for looking after me.
Here is a collection of my favourites from the day. Wow and look at them wedding shoes, my favourites this year so far!
Venue: Talland Bay Hotel, Cornwall // Date: 05.11.16 // Hair: Hair by Rochelle // Flowers: Flower Gallery Liskeard // Groom Suit: Marks and Spencer // Ushers and Best Man Suits: Next // Band: The Choons// Invitations and Stationery: self designed
Laura & James rainy wedding in St Ives, Cornwall
James and Laura show us that even a rainy wedding by the beach can be fun..
It rained all day on Jame's and Laura's wedding day in St Ives, Cornwall in late november. However it didn't stop us venturing down the Porthminster beach for some couple portraits equipped with umbrellas and several rain protectors including some waterproof walking trousers for my camera gear. Congratulations Laura & James! Thanks for being so easy going and making these portraits possible.. More from this wedding coming very soon..
Kate & Kieren's late autumn wedding at Knightor Winery in Cornwall
Kate and Kieren's late October wedding at Knightor Winery in Cornwall..
Kate and Kieren were married on the 29th of October at Knightor Winery in Cornwall. It was a mild late autumn day and gladly the rain stayed away. The venues gardens looked beautiful with autumn colours and an even overcast light, great conditions for the couple portraits.
The table decorations were kept simple and reflecting their jobs, Kieren works in IT and Kate in Astronomy: cut out paper hearts with the numbers 0 and 1 printed on them and spread over the tables along with wintery green twigs and jam jar tea lights.
A ceilidh band got the dance floor moving with traditional scottish folk songs and nearly everyone joined in. Definitely the highlight of the day even though a bit chaotic to photograph at times..
I wish Kate and Kieren all the best for their new venture moving to the United States to start a new career.
Here are a few of my favourites of the day..
Venue: Knightor Winery, Cornwall // Date: 29.10.16 // Makeup: Nicola Taylor // Flowers: Floral Creations St Austell // Dress: Emma Roy Edinburgh // Music: North Cornwall Ceilidh Band
my latest work:
Welcome to my blog, here you will find my latest work, previews of recent weddings /elopements and some tips to plan your special day.
Congratulations Josie & Andrew! What a day! They got married in ‘The Church of Storms’ in Gunwallow and fighting the elements, good on you to be brave and embrace it! That wind… Followed by a reception at Beacon Crag near Porthleven in Cornwall. I’m so pleased the marquee held sturdy on the clifftop. Joise’s veil got lost to the elements when we ventured out for some photos on the cliffs. I’m sure that’s a sign of good fortune…
This felt less like a wedding and more like a gathering of hearts — full of intention, connection and so much love. This felt less like a wedding and more like a gathering of hearts — full of intention, connection and so much love. One of the most unique ceremonies I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing, with breathwork to ground everyone into the moment, a communal OM echoing through the space, and some of the most heartfelt vows and readings that had more than a few people reaching for tissues.
Stacey and Aaron’s wedding at Stennack Farm was one of those days with such a big buzz around it that just kept getting better and better. Fun, full of energy, and packed with crazy vibes from start to finish. The pair, along with all their family and friends, couldn’t have been more local to the venue — in fact, they were all from Camborne just up the road. A true Cornish wedding!
Rachel & Joe’s wedding at Knightor Winery was something truly special …
There was such a natural connection between them—full of laughter, warmth, and that rare kind of bond you can actually feel just being around them…

Choosing a style you love is important, but beyond the aesthetic, have you thought about which moments from your wedding day you’ll want to relive forever?
Unposed. Unrushed. Unfiltered.
Documentary wedding photography that captures the intimacy, emotion, and quiet beauty of your day.
Moments over poses. I focus on storytelling rather than staged, artificial poses. This approach captures raw, unscripted emotions and genuine interactions as they naturally unfold, offering a true representation of the day’s atmosphere—not just how it looked, but how it felt…

It’s your day so do what you want! It’s hard I get it, guest lists, kids or no kids, are dogs welcome, should I invite that auntie and uncle I haven’t seen in years, should I hire a wedding car …But life is short and traditions are there to be broken. Do what you feel like doing and not what you think is expected!
I curated some tips to help you make the most out of your wedding day and photography…

What a day, and what a pair! These two are truly a match made in heaven, and I was absolutely delighted when they asked me to capture their wedding at Huntsham Court in Devon.
