Wedding Photography at Lusty Glaze Beach Cornwall // Emma & Rich

Wedding in Cornwall with the summer mode on. I was thrilled when Emma and Richard asked me to photograph their big day on the 2nd of August at Lusty Glaze Beach as it is my favourite beach wedding location in Cornwall.

Lusty Glaze was the perfect wedding venue for Emma and Richard. With 3 children and a lot more on their wedding guest list there is just no better place than the beach for a relaxed vibe wedding where everyone can just roam free and play in the sand.. At Lusty you can even book your own private beach section to relax and chill in the sunshine.A families paradise!

The Wedding Day

The morning started at Newquay Holiday Park, where Emma and Richard rented a caravan for 2 weeks. They arrived in Cornwall a week before the wedding and had another week to spend down here. They were blessed with warm weather and when I met Emma for her getting ready shots in her caravan, I could feel the relaxed holiday vibes.. 

The Campsite is only a 5 minute drive from Lusty, so a hassle free drive to the venue. The ceremony was beautiful. Emma was walked down the aisle by her oldest son and her daughter did a lovely reading. The sun came out for the reception drinks on the private beach section. It was scorching, so we postponed our couple portraits to after the meal when the beach was a bit quieter. I was also hoping for some low sun evening light. Well you can't predict the weather, it went overcast during the speeches but we still managed to take some great shots. Lusty is just great for photos!!

The evening started with great live tunes and a beautiful first dance. A few pictures below, have a look and if you plan a beach wedding in Cornwall, don't hesitate to get in touch..

Wedding Photography at Lower Barns in Cornwall | Helen & Andrew

Andrew and Helen had a small intimate wedding with just their closest family and friends, a true family affair at the fabulous Lower Barns Boutique Bed and Breakfast on the South Cornwall Coast. Micro Weddings became more and more popular in recent years. Not only can you make huge savings, it’s also a more relaxed way to celebrate your special day with just your closest friends and family. It can therefore be more special than planning a big wedding with all the hustle and stress in involved.

They were blessed with gorgeous sunshine and the whole day was packed with good summer vibes, love and laughter. All children had so much fun in the beautiful gardens at Lowerbarns while Andrew, Helen, their cute children and I ventured to the beach to take some portraits in a vintage VW Campervan. The sea looked stunning that day, it somehow looked like a mediterranean coast rather than Cornwall due to the recent lack of rain. The hills have a brownish tint and the sea couldn't have been more turquoise. A stunning location for the coastal shots they wanted!

When we got back we were greeted by beautiful music from the talented wedding singer Steve Young and most delicious food prepared by the team at Lowerbarns. The speeches were rather emotional in parts and the couple struggled to hold back tears, happy tears, good tears! So much love, it was beautiful to watch..

As it was such a nice warm summer evening we moved the dancing to the outdoor patio and the party was soon in full swing..

Cornwall Wedding Photographer at Trevenna Barns // Claire & Steve

Claire and Steve wanted to keep things relaxed and simple for their wedding on the 10th of July 2018, so they chose the beautiful Trevenna Barns in Cornwall where they could do everything their way and make sure everything was fuss free. I'm not going to talk about the blue skies and summery vibes again, we all know by now it's one of the best summers in ages here in the UK!

Claire did most of the planning and she put together a lot of lovely touches with the help of her friend s and family. The Great Barn was decorated simple and stylish with a vintage touch, I absolutely loved it! The colours were kept in green, cream and gold/brass. There were a lot of lovely personal touches to find in every corner, like some framed quotes telling their love story and deep bond for each other. Claire even had a newspaper made containing their engagement story, stories of their hen and stag parties and the time plan of the day including the dinner menu - a great idea! And it caused some tears in some bridesmaids eyes…

When I first met Claire last year, she said she is really sad that she can't take her two beloved labradors to the wedding and decided to put them in kennels although the venue is dog friendly. She thought it might be too much hassle on the wedding day..I thought it's a shame as the venue is located in the middle of Bodmin Moor with endless beautiful dog walk possibilities and the South Cornwall beaches aren't far away either. Well, Steve thought the same and organised a great surprise for Claire after the speeches: He had the dogs delivered by a dog courier from 6 hours away! Claire burst in tears of joys when she was reunited with their two pooches. He really managed to keep that a secret!

Cornwall Wedding Photography at Roscarrock Farm // Mat & Kate

It was an absolute honour when Mat asked me to photograph his wedding. He is a talented photographer himself and I always admired his work. In recent years he started Hailer Media, a marketing consulting agency in the heart of Cornwall. Have a look, some great stuff there!

So what do you get if you cross a talented photographer with a gorgeous blonde teacher and their cutest little son with a cherry picked selection of the best suppliers in the cornwall wedding business plus one of the most stunning wedding venues Cornwall has to offer? You get Kate and Mat's picture prefect wedding at Roscarrock Farm near Port Isaac. A day filled with friends, laughter, good vibes and love.

Roscarrock is a farm with walled gardens overlooking the beautiful cornish north coast. A spectacular setting which has been used for TV and Film productions before. Roscarrock was Nampara in the original series of Poldark, Winston Graham was said to have written the books based on Roscarrock. It was my first time there and I love it! It feels feel like you are at a country house summer party.

To top it all off, the day was blessed with beautiful blue skies and sunshine. I was only booked for the ceremony and the afternoon and left just after the space hopper football game, but I wish I could have stayed on as it looked like there was an awesome party on the way! Well at least I got to taste some of Ben's (Woodfired Canteen) super delicious food on the way home...

Debbie & Rob's stylish country Wedding at Trevenna Barns in Cornwall

We were blessed with beautiful scorching sunshine over the last few weeks here in Cornwall and for Debbie and Rob the temperatures seemed to reach their max, it was 32 degrees in the bridal suit during the preparation shots. I was impressed the makeup stayed on ;-)

Debbie did a beautiful job decorating everything with great attention to detail. I loved the dreamcatchers, pastel colours and the fabric ribbons were swaying in the wind framing the back of the oak arbour were they held their outdoor ceremony. The dress had her name stitched on the inside ('something blue') and the wedding cake was just amazing, Debbie & Rob with their camper van and 2 little dogs. Shame I couldn't meet their pooches as they didn't come along..well at least there was a good copy of them on the cake!

It was the happiest of days... family, friends, laughter, music, smiles and dancing... lots of dancing.  Jessica and the Rabbits were playing funky tunes and it didn't matter what age, everyone was found on the dance floor at some point even though it was slightly too hot to move!

Debbie & Rob... it was simply wonderful.  You and all your friends and family were so much fun and so damn lovely.  Congratulations yet again and I hope you enjoy this small selection of previews.. not long now until you see the whole collection xx

Aimee & Matt's Beach Wedding at the 'Cornish Riviera' St Ives

I have been traveling a lot over the years, but when it all comes together and we get a heatwave here in Cornwall, it is one of the most stunning coastline in the world! Especially down in St ives, I call it the 'Cornish Riviera' with white sand beaches and turquoise seas, just breathtaking.

Aimee and Matt tied the knot at St Ives Harbour Hotel on the 9th of June. It was one of those scorching sunny days, picture perfect! Aimee's friend Aimee Florence did her makeup, I shot her beautiful vintage inspired DIY style wedding a few years back. It's lovely to meet her and Lewis again, now a little family with cute Elenor...The yummy wedding cake was also provided by Aimee Florence's mum's tearoom in Helston, the 'twistedcurrant'. If you're ever down that way make sure to plan a stopover, the cakes are all homemade and mouthwatering!

Unfortunately Aimee's dad passed away when she was very young but she had a picture of him attached to her bridal bouquet so he could be with her on her special day, a lovely detail!

Even though a hotel wedding the day had a nice relaxed vibe to it and everyone was enjoying the sunny day on the  hotel's terrace or for a walk down to Porthminster beach.

Claire & Mike's rustic Nancarrow Farm Wedding in Cornwall

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but I feel I need to write a bit and try to describe this cracker of a day. Firstly, if you’re thinking of planning a country wedding and have a passion for rustic and vintage then look no further than Nancarrow Farm in Cornwall. And did I mention the overly delicious food all locally sourced from the farm and mainly cooked over open fire? I went to a few of their famous Nancarrow Feast nights and hardly ever tasted such delicious meat cooked to perfection! 

Mike and Claire got hitched at this incredible venue on a roasting hot June day. I’m pretty certain that I can speak for everyone there when I say that their wedding was flawless and buzzing with happy summery vibes from start to finish.

Claire had the old rustic barn decorated with a beautiful flower arch and vintage milk cans filled with stunning blossoms provided by the talented George Mackay and the rest of the venue's flowers (tables, buttonholes, bouquets) were selected by Mike's mum. 

Joe Hurworth got everyone rocking the wedding during the Cocktail Happy hour early evening..I felt me feet tapping to the funky tunes a few times and one particular younger guest couldn't stop dancing and impressing everyone around him with his funky moves..

I also am sure I can speak for Claire and Mike when I say that if they had the opportunity to do it all again, they would. And so would I, I felt just like a friend photographing their wedding and enjoyed every part of it!

Faye & Evan's beach themed wedding at Gwel an Mor Resort Cornwall

Faye and Evan tied the knot in a yurt at the fabulous luxury resort Gwel an Mor in Portreath on the cornish coast. Faye and Evan live in Bristol, so not far from Cornwall, and as they both love the sea, they even started to surf not long ago, it was an easy decision to make to get married near the stunning cornish coast.

Their wedding date was little special as it was coinciding with the Royal Wedding, Saturday the 19th of May. The girls had the Royal Wedding live on TV while they were getting ready. And when Meghan walked down the isle, the emotional level was high and some tears were shed by one of the bridesmaids. There was a big question raised wether she was crying for the Royal Wedding or for Faye's? 

Faye had a surprise present for her dad and it was lovely to see he enjoyed his new watch!

The day was blessed with beautiful sunshine so everyone was enjoying the relaxed summery vibe in the courtyard after the wedding. After the speeches Faye, Evan and I ventured down to Portreath beach for some couple portraits. 

The wedding cake had a lovely personal touch to it with a hint to Evan's love for fancy dress.. And the bottom of a retired surfboard with some beautiful artwork by a local illustrator served as 'guestbook' .

There was some great dance moves to be witnessed straight after the first dance and I'm sure they had a good party after I left.

Denise & Michael's summery Beach Wedding at Lusty Glaze Cornwall

Denise and Michael certainly done something right as they were blessed with the most gorgeous sunny day for their wedding at Lusty Glaze. Their dream was to have a relaxed beach vibe wedding with their friends and family. The day couldn't have been any better for it, sandwiched between really cold showery days for this time of year here in Cornwall, it was a scorching summery day, even staying warm well into the evening. I'm so pleased for them! Everyone enjoyed the beach vibe lifestyle and were well up for the beach games and a dip in the sea. I'm sure I've seen some sun burnt faces and shoulders around sunset time. 

The sun was high in the sky for our first set of couple portraits, so we ventured out in the golden light of the evening to take some more gorgeous shots on the beach. Lusty Glaze was voted beach wedding venue of the year in 2017 and they well deserve it! One of my favourite venues in Cornwall, the staff are relaxed and super friendly and the little cove offers endless photo opportunities right on your doorstep. 

I couldn't make a small preview as there are so many nice shots from this glorious day tp choose from and I'm really bad at making decisions! So here you go, a rather large selection of my favourites..

Sarah & Kat's Elopement at the Scarlet Hotel in Mawganporth

Sarah and Kat eloped to Cornwall on May the 3rd. They've chosen the Scarlet Hotel because Mawganporth is one of their favourite places and The Scarlet is dog friendly. They brought their adorable guide dog with them who also did a great job as the ring bearer. Originally planned as an elopement with just the three of them they decided to bring just a few of their besties and parents along with them to celebrate in style. The ceremony was very special with lots of laughter and good vibes. 

After a few bubbles and canapés we ventured down the beach for some more photos. They did great with their choice of two wedding dresses in opposite complimenting colours. I think they look great in the photos.. 

I only stayed with them for 2.5 hours but I'm sure they had a great evening with delicious food at The Scarlet and enjoyed their mini moon week in Cornwall.
