Wedding Photographer Tunnels Beaches North Devon // Cat & Ross
Cat & Ross fantastic boho style wedding at tunnels Beaches in North Devon was totally up my street. the styling, the colours, the venue, the sunset…and wait until you see the wedding dress!
Just wow! The place, the styling everything about this day keeps my jaw dropping…loved, loved, loved photographing Cat and Ross’ wedding at Tunnels Beaches. I appreciate how much thought and work goes into every wedding’s planning and everyone has their own personality and style. These two definitely hit my soft spot, I loved everything about it, the styling, the colours, the perfect sunset…and wait until you see that dress, which left everyone speechless including the groom!
Cat and Ross tied the knot on the 15th of July at Tunnels Beaches in Ilfracombe. They were blessed with the most gorgeous sunny day and blue skies which helped to make their special day even more extra special! They wanted a small intimate chilled wedding, near the beach where they could have their dogs with them and loved the idea of a chilled BBQ and ice cream van. Easy, breezy, bohemian style. So Tunnels Beaches was the perfect venue for it.
Cat had a lot of input into the design and she really did a fantastic job tying it all together. ‘Dried flowers was a must as we wanted to take them home with us and to last forever‘
Here is what they said about their highlights of the day: ‘Both of our favorite part of the day was definitely seeing each other at the end of the aisle but it was a perfect day, perfect weather, we didn't want it to end. We loved that we had the day before in the venue's accommodation as it extended the celebration.’
I could write on forever what I loved about this day, but as you may have noticed already, I’m not the best writer, so I let the images tell the story…it was really hard to just select a few for this blog as there are so many good moments from this day, but here you go, my favourites!

Wedding Photography at Porthpean House Cornwall // Nick & Emily
Emily and Nick’s wedding at Porthpean House in Cornwall. A beautiful relaxed vibe wedding overlooking the sheltered Cornish South Coast
What great day to capture, Emily and Nick’s wedding at Porthpean House was super relaxed ad personal. It was my first time at this beautiful beach house with acres of tranquil gardens just above the beach. A very special location, also featuring in Richard Curtis romantic comedy ‘About Time’!
‘We chose the venue because we wanted to celebrate next to the sea and have our close friends and family stay with us over the whole weekend (they stayed with us from Friday to Monday morning).’
They also opted for a marquee wedding which made it extra personal. So much of it was DIY - they made their own invitations, orders of service, menus, and brought candlesticks/flower tins and other decorations which they have been collecting for months. Oh and Emily made her very own wedding cake! They also set their own bar in the garden which they named after their favourite pub ‘The Lord Nelson’ in Southwold.
The beach is only a few steps away, so we ventured down there for a brief couple portrait session. Emily and Nick weren’t very fussed about a lot of staged or formal shots and rather wanted more photos of everyone enjoying themselves. The speeches were epic and are a great play ground for capturing emotions and a whole lot of laughter…
I love capturing days like this, no strict regimented time lines etc. just a relaxed day with the most lovely couple and their closest friends and family.
Here is a collection of my favourites…

Wedding Photographer Polhawn Fort Cornwall // Kay & Tom
a selection of my favourite moments captured as a wedding photographer for kay & Tom at Polhawn Fort in Cornwall
How good did it feel to be back to photographing a wedding at Polhawn Fort! It has been at least 3 years since I have last visited this beautiful venue. Kay & Tom didn’t only have great weather, they had a brilliant bunch of family and friends to celebrate with them. The fabulous Polhawn Fort in Cornwall is a venue where couples can really make it their own rather than being restricted and regimented like at a lot of other wedding venues. And set in this beautiful location with it’s own private beach it is pretty unique! So if you’re looking for a relaxed unconventional wedding venue I would definitely recommend them.
Here is what Kay had to say: ‘I found the venue online. I couldn't sleep, I was looking for venues by the sea and I fell in love with it. It was a perfect fit because it's a fort which Tom loved and its whimsical and romantic in an unconventional way which I loved. ‘
Blessed with beautiful weather most of the day was spent outdoors and kay’s dream wedding came reality. Her highlight of the day: ‘I really enjoyed the music, games and mingling on the lawn. Lots of good food.’
Tom’s highlight of the day (bless him): ‘Marrying the girl of his dreams’ (he's a keeper)
Enough said. Here are some of my favourite moments from being Kay & Tom’s wedding photographer.

Wedding Photography Falmouth and Lamorran Gardens Cornwall // Liz & Robin
Liz and Robin’s extraordinary wedding at Lamorran Gardens and Falmouth in Cornwall was packed with emotion and awesomeness. Well, I don’t get to spend half the wedding day on a boat cruise usually, truly epic!
Liz and Robin’s wedding day was truly magical! They said ‘I do’ in the beautiful Lamorran Gardens overlooking the sea, followed by a boat reception with Falmouth Pleasure Cruises and an evening at the Working Boat Pub in Falmouth. The weather couldn’t have been better for it and I had an epic start of the day with a mini boat cruise from Falmouth over to St Mawes. I had an incredible time capturing this day filled with emotion and awesomeness, a truly extraordinary wedding and one I will remember forever!
Here is a little summary about the day from the couple:
Liz and Robin met almost 5 years ago after he wandered into the Dive Centre she was working in and they got chatting about their mutual love of the sea. Him a professional offshore sailor and her a scuba diving instructor. They went on their first date at the Working Boat Pub Falmouth and knew from very early on that they'd found something very special. They got engaged in Nov 2020 and started thinking about how they could work their love of the ocean into their wedding day. St Mawes had always been special to them as they had their second date and first kiss there. Lamorran Gardens was the only wedding venue they visited and fell in love straight away with Mediterranean vibe and stunning sea views. It seemed fitting to have the reception at the pub where they had their first date and adding the party boat in, to have a little river cruise just tied it all together so perfectly.
Robin - 'My favourite part of the day was saying our vows under the cuppola. Lamorran gardens is such an amazing and magical place, we felt so lucky to be able to get married there.'
Liz - 'It's so hard to choose a favourite part of the day because I honestly loved every single second. But walking down from the ceremony with all our family and friends in the sunshine overlooking the beautiful St Mawes and Carrick Roads felt very very special.'
The day was incredibly emotional as on the 9th March, just a few months earlier, whilst Liz & Robin were out in Antigua, Robin sustained major skull fractures, broke his neck and sustained a traumatic brain injury. Resulting in him being medically evacuated to Miami ICU where he underwent emergency brain surgery and skull reconstruction. He spent 16 days in ICU. And 2 more weeks as an outpatient in Miami. The first thing that Robin said when he woke up was 'we're still getting married' and I truly believe the belief of better days to come helped to pull us through some of the darker moments. There were many moments where we didn't think we would still be able to get married, so having the day we'd always planned made us feel like the happiest and luckiest people alive. To be surrounded by our family and friends who sent so much love and support across the ocean was incredible. I still thank my lucky stars every day that we're here and we're married.

Cornwall Elopement at Lower Barns // Zoe & Stew
A Cornwall Elopement at Lower Barns and a visit to Caerhays beach for couple portraits. Just the two of them on a mini break in Cornwall.
Zoe and Stew eloped at Lower Barns in Cornwall .They decided to have a no fuss relaxed elopement wedding and booked Lower Barns for a few days to have a quality break in Cornwall. They couldn’t have chosen a better week for it. We have been blessed here recently with plenty of sunshine and quality beach time. The ceremony was held outside in the beautiful grounds of Lower Barns. After some Prosecco and a few photos around the grounds we ventured to Caerhays beach for some more beach portraits.

Eden Project Cornwall Wedding Photography // Ash & David
Ash and David’s wedding at The Eden Project was truly spectacular! The Mediterranean Biome flooded in beautiful golden light, just wow!
It’s always a pleasure to photograph a wedding at the Eden Project, a feast for the eyes and inspiration. And even better if it’s such a lovely couple like Ash and David. I met Ash early afternoon just down the road for some bridal preparation photos. How amazing is her bespoke sparkly dress by Hen House Brides, and it’s blue! I love to see something fresh when it comes to weddings and I have a special weakness for non white wedding dresses…
Ash and David tied the knot in the Mediterranean Biome on the 13th of May in beautiful golden afternoon light. They had a registry office ceremony before the ‘big day’, so one of their close friends could hold a much more personal ceremony at the Eden. It was fantastic! You would have thought it was his job, so special, so personal, so emotional, one of the best ceremonies I have ever witnessed!
After the ceremony we made the most out of the location and had a wander around the Mediterranean and Tropical Biomes. The photo opportunities are plenty and I had to force myself to stop as it was time for dinner and speeches. I got spoilt with a 3 course meal and it was one of the best I had in ages, so delicious. The Eden Project is definitely in my top 5 list for food!
There was plenty of laughter and tears during the groom’s and bride’s speech and the warm sunset light added a great Mediterranean flair.
Sadly Ash and David didn’t opt for a cake or first dance…I love a first dance, but their friend’s made good for it with some great moves.
I’m not very good with words and writing so I let the images so tell the story…I hope you this little preview of an epic day

Wedding Photographer Knightor Winery Cornwall // Ed & Lois
Ed & loi’s epic Easter Weekend wedding at Knightor Winery
Wow, I couldn't have imagined a better start into the 2023 wedding season than this stunning Easter Weekend Wedding with Ed and Lois at Knightor Winery in Cornwall!
When Ed asked me a year ago to be his wedding photographer I was slightly flattered when I found out that he has his own film company ‘We are Wild Studio’. It’s always satisfying to work with someone who understands photography…
Ed and Lois’ wedding day couldn’t have been more perfect. The weather was great, so they had their drinks reception and wine tasting outside by the oak arbour which I thought was a great touch and never has been done before at Knightor.
The speeches were epic and after a second set of photos with the lovely pair, a sparkler exit announced the evening entertainment and a beautiful first dance indoors and outdoors…
I love shooting weddings at Knightor Winery, there are so many photo opportunities and it always has this special relaxed vibe. So if you’re planning to get married there and are looking for a wedding photographer please contact me for availability. It’s one of my favourite venues here in Cornwall.
But fr now, enjoy a small preview from Ed & Lois’ cracker of a day!

Post Wedding Photography Watergate Bay // John & Caroline
Wedding Photography for John and Caroline at Watergate Bay in Cornwall. Post ceremony family portraits on the beach and around Watergate Bay hotel
A couple of weeks ago I met John and Caroline at Watergate Bay hotel for some photos after their registry office ceremony in Truro. They wanted to keep their wedding personal and intimate, so they booked a luxury escape with their three teenage children and adorable dog Betty at the fabulous Watergate Bay hotel. I met them early afternoon for some family portraits on the beach.
What a beautiful and fun family to work with! Here is a little taster…
Celestial Themed Winter Wedding Photography at Knightor Winery Cornwall // Rob & Anya
Rob and Anya’s celestial themed winter wedding at Knightor Winery. The most beautiful styling by the bride herself, a feast for the eyes!
Rob and Anya’s winter wedding at Knightor Winery in Cornwall was so beautiful! A feast for the eyes, so much personality put in every little detail! I love seeing something different in styling and this wedding ticked all the boxes.
Rob and Anya chose the moon part of the theme first, after a quote from the film Labyrinth "I'll place the moon in your heart", then the rest of theme (colours, stars etc) came after Anya found her dress from Glitter Soup. ‘I loved the handpainted details from the Ukrainian maker, and thought having a deep moody celestial setting would suit the time of year as well.’
A lot of the decor was DIY'd, including stationary, signage, the candle sticks etc, or sourced within the UK.
Flowers were all purchased from a Willow Cottage Flowers on Etsy and put together by the bride herself, with some help from Youngest Child Events for the signing table. They looked pretty amazing considering she never made a flower arrangement or bouquet before!
Rob and Anya only wanted a small cozy wedding with those closest to them. Sadly Anya’s maid of honour passed away a few months before the wedding, but she was there in spirit. Knightor is the perfect venue for a small intimate wedding like this. Making sure their guests had amazing food was one of the major plus points. Fancy marshmallows, sparklers and firepits finished the evening cozy vibe.
‘Whilst the mention of eels seems a bit random, it makes sense to Rob and I, as one of our earliest dates was at Ely Eel Festival where Rob took part in the World Eel Throwing Championship (the eels thrown were toy eels!). His magnificent throw didn't make the podium, but pretty much secured his place in my heart’
Loved the cake so much that I cried when saw it in person, and our favourite part of the day was seeing each other at the front of the aisle and reading our own vows.’
I feel honoured to have played a part in this very special day! My first wedding to capture this season and one I will remember for sure.

Cornwall Family Photography // St Ives
A wintery family photoshoot in St Ives Cornwall
It was a pleasure to meet these guys again for some family photos in St Ives. I photographed their wedding back in 2015 and they now have a little family with another one on the way. Where has time gone? I can’t believe it’s 7 years ago! Sara wanted their photos at the same place we shot their wedding a few years back on Porthminster beach. St Ives is also is a very special place for them. It was a baltic day with the north winds blowing into the beach and soon got a little cold to build sand castles, so we decided to head to the Arcades for some shelter…
I love meeting couples again after a few years, it is so nice to stay in touch and I can’t wait to meet their newest member of the family soon, hopefully it will be sunny and a little warmer next time!
