Faye & Evan's beach themed wedding at Gwel an Mor Resort Cornwall
Faye and Evan tied the knot on the 18th of may, the Royal Wedding date. They both love the sea, so it was clear they would get married on the cornish coast. The luxury resort Gwel an More in Portreath was the perfect location for their relaxed style beach themed wedding..
Faye and Evan tied the knot in a yurt at the fabulous luxury resort Gwel an Mor in Portreath on the cornish coast. Faye and Evan live in Bristol, so not far from Cornwall, and as they both love the sea, they even started to surf not long ago, it was an easy decision to make to get married near the stunning cornish coast.
Their wedding date was little special as it was coinciding with the Royal Wedding, Saturday the 19th of May. The girls had the Royal Wedding live on TV while they were getting ready. And when Meghan walked down the isle, the emotional level was high and some tears were shed by one of the bridesmaids. There was a big question raised wether she was crying for the Royal Wedding or for Faye's?
Faye had a surprise present for her dad and it was lovely to see he enjoyed his new watch!
The day was blessed with beautiful sunshine so everyone was enjoying the relaxed summery vibe in the courtyard after the wedding. After the speeches Faye, Evan and I ventured down to Portreath beach for some couple portraits.
The wedding cake had a lovely personal touch to it with a hint to Evan's love for fancy dress.. And the bottom of a retired surfboard with some beautiful artwork by a local illustrator served as 'guestbook' .
There was some great dance moves to be witnessed straight after the first dance and I'm sure they had a good party after I left.
Here is a collection of my favourites..

Alex & Zachary's beautiful cornish wedding at Carlyon Bay Hotel
Alex and Zachary's classic style cornish wedding at Carlyon Bay Hotel
Alex and Zachary's wedding day had it all, from sunny glimpses to blustery showers, a typical cornish summer's day. I arrived in the bridal suite only 1 hour before the ceremony because Alex only wanted just a few final bridal prep shots. The talented Sally Orchard was doing her magic and everyone looked stunning.
The weather was to our favour and it was dry for an outdoor ceremony. I'm so pleased for Alex and Zach as that's what they really wanted so much to be married outside. And it makes my job much easier, I love working with natural light.
I enjoyed capturing the day for them, a celebration in classic style.
I'm still not sure what I enjoyed more though the golf buggy ride to the private beach for the couple portraits or to capture the hilarious facial impressions during the ceilidh dance..
Venue: Carlyon Bay Hotel // Date: 15.07.17 // Flowers: Escential Blooms // Hair: Sarah Hooper (Capella Hair) // Makeup: Sally Orchard // Dress: Noemi Neoh from Bridal House of Cornwall // Cake: DIY // Ceilidh Band: Blue Jewel
Dan & Madeleine's autumn wedding at The Edenproject, Cornwall
Dan and Madeleine's mid October wedding at The Edenproject in Cornwall.
Dan and Madeleine were married on the 15th of October at the Edenproject in Cornwall. It was the last wedding of the season as it starts getting cold in the mediterranean biome at night this time of year. Lots of blankets kept and generous rounds of shots kept everyone warm during the meal and speeches. The reception was held up in a function room near the Eden's reception, so everyone enjoyed a fun train ride back up the top after the meal. Sitting amongst the guests on that train made me long for a glass of wine or two!
The Eden is one of a kind venue and a delight for every wedding photographer just because it is a little different and offers lots of photo opportunities whatever the weather.
Here is a selection of my favourites from the day..

Bella & Phil's relaxed vibe wedding @Nancarrowfarm in Cornwall
Bella and Phil's relaxed vibe wedding at the stunning Nancarrow Farm in Cornwall..
These 2 were really fun to work with! I haven't met Bella and Phil before as they came over from Australia just before their wedding day, but we clicked instantly and the few hours I spend with them was a pleasure.. and my first time shooting a wedding at Nancarrow Farm. I have been to the infamous feast nights before and tasted their delicious locally sourced food, but never shot a wedding here before.. what a stunning venue just around the corner from where I'm based!
Bella and Phil's wedding was a filled with laughter mid summer wedding with polish traditions. In Poland, a central part of the wedding ceremony is the presentation of bread and salt to the newly-married couple. The parents of the couple present them with rye bread sprinkled with salt and a drink; the bread represents the symbolic hope that they will never go hungry; the salt reminds them that their joint life will have its difficulties and the drink represents the parents' wishes for health and happiness for the couple. The bride’s mother holds the tray with bread and salt, and asks her daughter: "Which do you choose: bread, salt or the groom?” The bride answers: ‘Bread, salt and the groom to earn money for it”. For drinking ritual, one glass contains vodka, and the other only water. Of course the couple cannot tell which is which; the one who gets vodka will play a leading role in the new marriage..
I'm sad I was only booked for 3 hours and would have loved to stay on to tell the whole story with this lovely bunch..

Congratulations Jasmine & Richard at Pengenna Manor, Cornwall
Jasmine and Richard's stylish grand country house wedding at pengenna manor in Cornwall..
Jasmine and Richard celebrated their big day at Pengenna Manor, a beautiful grand country house tucked away in quiet secluded valley on the north cornish coast. When I met them for their pre wedding consultation I was honestly a bit worried about the unreliable cornish weather when they told me all their outdoor focused wedding plans. But it all came together on this hot blue sky mid summer's day.
The decorations were a feast for the eye including origami paper folding cake decoration, DIY bunting and a woodland walk framed with the couple's pictures..Everything had such a personal touch to it and reflected their vibrant personality.
I'm so pleased their outdoor wedding dream came true. Such a nice colourful mix of people having fun with garden games (the giant Jenga is always my favourite, especially when it finally collapses!), an outdoor bar/sweets bar, outdoor Photo Booth and a surprise ice-cream trike to name just a few.. the wedding breakfast was in laid back picnic style andRichards dance off just after the first dance made me cry out loud from laughing, I'm sure they had a great night after I left..
Here is a collection of my favourite shots from the day..

It’s your day so do what you want! Do what you feel like doing and not what you think is expected!
I curated some tips to help you make the most out of your wedding day and photography…

When searching for your wedding photographer, you’ve probably fallen in love with a particular wedding photography style — whether that’s documentary, editorial, film-inspired, or something with a fine art edge. Choosing a style you love is important, but beyond the aesthetic, have you thought about which moments from your wedding day you’ll want to relive forever?
