Cornwall Wedding Photographer at Lusty Glaze Beach // Helen + Jason
Cornwall Wedding Photography at Lusty Glaze Beach for Helen and Jason. A lovely summery beach wedding in Cornwall. They had it all, sunshine, beach, a great team, good people, great music and most of all the cutest ‘best dog’. I just love photographing weddings like this, especially if it is at one of my favourite venues in Cornwall!
When I met Helen and Jason earlier this summer they told me they were supposed to be at Glastonbury, but didn't manage to get the tickets so ended up in Cornwall for a weeks holiday. Well I guess they got lucky in the end as Cornwall scorched in a heat wave the week they were here! They love their music and their festivals and wanted to have a wedding as relaxed and fun as possible. Lusty Glaze being a private beach wedding venue is just the right venue for that kind of day.
Their wedding day was blessed with blue skies too. I met Helen for the bridal preparation shots at Glendorgal hotel just around the corner from Lusty. Lovely Hannah and Emma were there for the makeup and bridal hair. They are always fun to work with, it’s great to have a good team together for the start of the day. I just had to stop myself taking photos of Helen’s lovely little Jack Russel dog, I think she got a bit worried that I would she would get a collection of dog prep shots instead of bridal ones! He is so cute though and he was nominated ‘best dog’ for the day…
Helen and Jason only invited their closest friends and family so it was a small intimate wedding. Nevertheless the party started in full swing as soon as the ‘Swing Kings’ started playing.
They definitely had it all, sunshine, beach, good people, a great team, delicious food, wonderful music and even a sunset. What more do you hope for on your wedding day!
Helen and Jason, I knew you would be great to work! Thanks again for having me.
Here is your preview. Not long now for the full gallery, I promise…
I enjoyed photographing this wedding so much! If you are looking for a wedding photographer for your wedding at Lusty Glaze or anywhere else in Cornwall please contact me for further information
“Alexa photographed our wedding in August at Lusty Glaze beach. We chose Alexa as we’re not massive fans of ‘posed’ photographs and loved Alexa’s style and wanted someone that knew the venue. We met her before our wedding to discuss things and knew as soon as we met her she would be great to work with. We only had a couple of shots we really wanted so the rest we left up to her and she did an amazing job of capturing our day perfectly. It was lovely to see things when we received our beautifully presented pictures that we had not even noticed on the day which was lovely. Half of the time we didn’t notice she was there as she works very discretely. She goes the extra mile to get her shots, climbing on walls, lying on the wet sand ect but the end results are amazing. I would not hesitate to recommend Alexa to anyone wanting amazing results.”

Corinne + Paul // A beautiful Outdoor Wedding at The Green in Cornwall
Corinne and Paul’s beautiful summer outdoor wedding under the oak tree arbour at The Green Cornwall..
Corinne and Paul tied the knot early August at The Green in Cornwall. The forecast didn’t look so good and I lost all hope that the ceremony would be outside. I guess Corinne and Paul got lucky as despite the forecast for showers it stayed dry and their dream for an outdoor ceremony under the oak tree arbour came true.
I also had the opportunity to meet their lovely son Bobby who didn’t come along the engagement shoot earlier in the year. What a lovely family! So much love and happiness all around.
Here is a sneak peak for you, not long now for the delivery of the final images..

Wedding Photography at The Green Cornwall // Alistair + Angela
Angela and Alistair’s wedding at The Green in Cornwall with their family and closest friends and beloved labradoodle Charlie…They even had a ‘dog moon’ saved for their pooch…loving it! I just love photographing weddings at The Green
I met Angela and Alistair a while back for their engagement shoot on Crantock Beach. They are such a lovely couple with such a deep bond. I knew from our first meeting that it would be a joy shooting their special day at The Green in Cornwall.
A relaxed style wedding with their closest family and friends and their lovely dog Charlie. I just love dogs at weddings and Angela and Alistair even extended their honeymoon to spend with their beloved pooch. 2 weeks in Jamaica followed by a week of ‘dog moon’ in Cornwall.. In fact, I think they should be around this area right now. I hope the weather stays nice for you this week guys!
I left when the ‘Open Mic’ was in full swing, such a good evening! That’s how a wedding reception should be, lots of dancing and great tunes…
So here we go, a little preview of my favourites…I hope you like them!

Carnglaze Caverns and Edenproject Wedding Photography // Victoria & Ashley
Probably one of the toughest days I photographed in a while. Dark caves, road closures and getting lost…But one of my favourite weddings this season so far. Ashley and Victoria’s wedding was different in a good way!
Probably one of the most challenging days I have photographed in a while. I love weddings a little different and this one certainly falls into this category. A hard day, but so worth it and probably one of my favourite weddings this season.. It started off that I couldn’t park my car near the cottage for the bridal preparations in Charlestown. They had their yearly Sailing Regatta on that day and the roads around Victoria’s Cottage were closed off for the event. I had to park 15 minutes away and carry my gear through a crowd of people.
The ceremony was at Carnglaze Caverns. I heard a lot about these caves, mostly that they are tricky to photograph as there is literally no light and you’re not allowed to use flash because of breeding bats! So I carried my LED light down the caves and regarding the circumstances I’m quite pleased with the results. If they just would put some new lights under that lake so it comes out better on photos…
After the ceremony Victoria and Ashley had a champagne reception in the beautiful gardens outside the cave before a vintage bus transported everyone to the Edenproject. Oh how I love this venue! I couldn’t wait to get back there, it’s a photographer’s delight with so many great backdrops for photos! And it doesn’t matter what the weather is like as the reception takes place in the mediterranean biome. Ashley and Victoria absolutely hate their photo taken, so we didn’t do any particular couple portraits, they wanted to keep it totally candid. I’m not into posing at all, but the Eden offers some amazing backdrops for photos, so a good walk with the couple through the grounds would have been fab. I sneaked a few in anyway and love them even more as they look more natural.
The speeches were hilarious, I’m quite pleased I’m not he only one with hair taming problems, sounds like the groom has his issues too. The best man gave him a golden hairdryer as a present, think I will get one too, it might help tame my frizzy hair in future! The Eden food, oh so delicious And did I mention the cake, how good is that wedding cake!
The evening started with cocktails in the tropical biome. If you have a form of vertigo the highest viewpoint is not for you, but what spectacular views from up there!
As soon as the band started playing everyone ventured on the dance floor. Must have been the tropical cocktails ha ha…
With everything running at least 1.5 hours late, I was knackered, so I missed the night exit sign and ended driving around in circles in the dark for half an hour ending up at closed gates. I found my way out and home eventually.. What a day, but so worth it!
Victoria and Ashley, you totally rocked your wedding! Here is your sneak peek

Cornwall Wedding Photography at Knightor Winery // Nina & Nick
Let’s ditch the speeches, first dance and all that typical wedding stuff, perhaps cut that delicious cheese cake, but that’s about it. Instead let’s just have a party, drink, eat and dance, oh yes let’s dance a lot! Nina & Nic’s super relaxed summer wedding at Knightor
Let’s ditch the speeches, first dance and all that typical wedding stuff, perhaps cut that delicious cheese cake, but that’s about it. Instead let’s just have a party, drink, eat and dance, oh yes let’s dance a lot! That’s what Nina and Nick did for their wedding day at Knightor Winery in Cornwall. It’s a lovely venue for a relaxed style smaller wedding like this one. I haven’t been there for a while and now I’ve been back shooting there, I realised how I missed this beautiful venue with their super friendly staff. They produce some excellent wines, so you can throw a wine tasting session in for your guests too. Nina decided to schedule the wine tasting for mid day, so everyone gets into the swing of it early on and it worked! As soon as the music started everyone started dancing, the weather was mild and with the long evenings the dance floor extended well into the courtyard.
A lovely bunch, so full of fun. If I just wouldn’t have had to listen to the ‘Amazon Alexa’ joke all day, it seemed to have gotten worse the more alcohol was flowing, ha,ha! Yes, my name is ‘Alexa’, might have to change it for future weddings ;-)
Nina and Nick, thanks so much for having me. Here is a small preview for the weekend.
I really enjoyed photographing this wedding. Please contact me if you’re looking for a wedding photographer at knights Winery or elsewhere in Cornwall.

Cornwall Wedding Photographer at Nancarrow Farm // Ben & Jenny
Ben and Jenny’s fantastic wedding at the cracking Nancarrow Farm with a very special guest and so many talented suppliers involved. A perfect summer’s day at one of my top 3 favourite venues!
There would be too many words to describe Nancarrow Farm, I absolutely love this place, one of my top 3 wedding venues in Cornwall! It’s not just around the corner from where I live, that’s always a bonus, it is more than my words can describe it, truly awesome, fabulous, lovely, superb, cracking and so much more… and tucked away in a green valley near Truro, it’s always sunny there or at least warmer than anywhere else in Cornwall. The staff are lovely and organised, the venue is beautifully rustic one of a kind and the food is divine.
Ben and Jenny’s day day started with the girls getting ready at Nancarrow’s bridal suite and finished with everyone going off on the dance floor to Fistral Stereo’s fine tunes covered in glitter. When I came home my partner asked me if I really have been at work or partying as my face was covered in it…
Jenny’s dress was so gorgeous! Her friend Amy designed it, she has her own fashion and bespoke bridal dress label ‘Fleetwood of London’, have a look at her designs, they are amazing! She also made the bridesmaid dresses herself, love the detail and the colours went so well with the venue. Her sister Sophie Higginson is a super talented Makeup Artist, so we had a dream team at work. Jenny is truly blessed to have such talented friends along with her at her wedding, gorgeousness overload!
And did I mention that we had a very special guest that day and I didn’t realise till later on? Not sure what goes on in my head when I’m in the creative zone! Jeremy Corbyn and his wife were amongst the guests, I guess that doesn’t happen every day…Well when the groom works for him, then it does…
Ben and Jenny, it was such a privilege to be part of your perfect day with such a lovely bunch of people. Here is a sneak peek, I hope you like what you see. Not long now until I can send you the rest of the images, promised…

Cornwall Wedding Phoography at Trelissick Gardens // Becky & Andrew
Becky and Andrew’s wedding at Trelissick Gardens in Cornwall was truly magical. A wedding photographer’s delight!
This day was truly magical! A fairytale wedding in Trelissick Gardens in Cornwall with stunning views over the Fal estuary.
I met the girls at Becky’s mum’s Cornish Cottage for the bridal preparation. Such a nice relaxed morning with the girls and Becky’s little daughter aka flower girl Sennen is truly adorable!
Becky and Andrew live in Germany and did the legal part of their marriage there so we ventured to Trispen church for a blessing and to Trelissick for the reception. It’s my first time shooting a wedding there and I must say it is gorgeous! Especially when the late afternoon sun comes out and floods the place with magical light to play with, a wedding photographer’s delight!
The evening started promising with grandma showing off her dance moves and even the little ones joining in.
Becky and Andrew, thanks so much for having me there to capture your wedding day at this stunning location. I hope you like this preview.
“Alexa captured our day perfectly. From start to finish she was fantastic, she was professional and quick to respond to my many questions. The day ran smoothly thanks to Alexa’s professionalism and great work ethic. You can see how incredibly passionate Alexa is about her work and always wanting to get the right shot, on a few occasions she laid on the floor and leant through windows to get the perfect shot. For us, getting the right photographer was one of the most important aspects of the wedding. The day goes by so quickly and the photos mean you can relive the day over and over and something we can share with our nearest and dearest. I thought it was a lovely touch for Alexa to share sneak peeks on social media and the preview was a lovely surprise and our photos are beautiful and we waited only a few weeks for all of them. One thing that drew me to Alexa was how she caught things in the moment and didn’t stage or pose anything other than a few of our couples portrait, but even then she asked us to just be natural with each other, have a kiss, look at each etc, she made us both feel very at ease. You wouldn’t know she was there most of time, she blended in well and I cannot sing her praises enough. Thank you a million times and for anyone looking for a photographer, Alexa Poppe is your girl. One of my favourite photos of the day, me and my beautiful daughter, a memory I will remember for ever you captured the moment perfectly”

Hannah & Joel // a summer wedding The Green Cornwall
Hannah and Joel’s magical summer wedding at The Green Cornwall. My first ever ceremony captured in the rustic barn, oh so gorgeous!
Oh so gorgeous, this wedding at The Green in Cornwall! The weather, the insanely good looking couple, a lovely bunch of friends and family, stylish decorations, tears and laughter during the speeches and to top its all, my first ever ceremony I photographed in the Rustic Barn. I have photographed weddings at The Green since years but never had the opportunity, so here we go finally! I’m just slightly sad I couldn’t make it a full set as they have only booked me until the speeches. I would have loved to capture the dance images for this one, but hey..
Hannah and Joel, you are the most wonderful couple, anyone can see how deeply in love you are and it was just such a magical day. Thank you for having me along to tell your story. xxx

John & Niamh // Roscarrock Farm Wedding Photography Cornwall
Niamh and John’s Outdoor wedding with stunning sea views at Roscarrock Farm in Cornwall
I’m stoked to have had the pleasure to photograph John and Niamh’s wedding at Roscarrock farm, it has been a year since I worked at this stunning venue. Rosarrock is one of the oldest settled farms in Cornwall and is listed in the Domesday book, since these times it has only been farmed by 4 families dating back to the 14th century. It is available for exclusive hire with beautiful walled gardens and sea views, nestled in a quiet valley near Port Isaac in Cornwall.
I photographed Niamh’s brothers wedding at The Eden Project a few years back. He decided to surprise his sister with a family photoshoot for Christmas. After a failed attempt on a cold winter’s day with strong northerly winds back in February we re-scheduled the shoot and headed out to Crantock beach in early spring. I love the results. And you can see them here. At first meeting John asked me if I could shoot their wedding and I was so pleased I still had the date free as I knew this one would be a stunner!
The ceremony was held outdoors with distant sea views as a backdrop and a handcrafted wooden arch decorated with greens and seashells as a centrepiece. Niamh’s friend has done an awesome job decorating the rest of the venue with DIY materials. Homemade bunting mixed with seashells, hanging planters and I think they collected every single vintage glassware in Cornwall for the table’s centrepieces! There was a gorgeous ‘garden theme’ running through their decorations and the place looked stunning full of personal touches.
Ben from Woodfired Canteen cooked some delicious food on his BBQs and when I heard he will be the caterer for the day, it was just the tip of the iceberg. I love his food!!!
They were blessed with sunny weather and the Irish really know how to throw a party. As soon as the band started playing the dance floor was filled with madness.
Niamh and John, thanks for having me photograph your gorgeous wedding. What a corker of a day!
Here is your preview, I hope you enjoy it.

Helen & Ed // Mount Pleasant Ecological Park Cornwall Wedding Photography
Helen and Ed’s festival style outdoor wedding at Mount Pleasant Ecological Park in Cornwall…
It has been a while since I photographed a wedding at Mount Pleasant Ecological Park in Porthtowan. I think at least 3 years! So much has changed since then, they have a great cafe there now with delicious locally sourced food and excellent coffees. Oh yes, a venue always gets some extra bonus points form me if there is good coffee to keep me going…
Add some sunshine, a bunch of fun friends and family, a gorgeous couple and some great suppliers and you get the perfect wedding day. Helen and Ed are keen Triathletes and it has been said that they are hardly seen without their wetsuits on. The sea means a lot to them, so we ventured to the nearby beach for some couple portraits and a paddle in the sea to cool down..
When we came back everyone enjoyed the sunshine and played garden games, a real relaxed festival style wedding kind of feel. This place is just made for a day like this kind of celebration! I would have loved to stay into the evening and see the band playing but I was only booked for half a day. So no getting ready images either, which is a shame as I always feel the story isn’t quite complete..
Helen and Ed, you were fantastic. I absolutely loved capturing your wedding day and would do it all over again any time!
Here is a rather large preview. I just couldn’t help myself to make it smaller…
